The human race may get extinct due to the global climate change (unless we start colonizing the exoplanets, which are located thousands of light years away). But at least some of the animal species are going to survive. The cockroaches can even survive nuclear radiation, and I expect them to cope much better with the new climatic conditions.

At the moment, the only reason that comes close to the end of the world is, God forbids, if world war 3 would come. With all the nuclear weapons of powerful countries posses there would be a nuclear holocaust that could erase humankind.

Yes, they said it is near so we must be prepare for the coming of the final judgement. According to our catechism the end of the world is like taking the final examination, it is the last chance the last evaluation. it is the examination to be take that you need to be really prepared. It is said God will return for the judgement he will be giving the decision whether you belong in heaven or hell, the are two place to go through if you are a good person you belong in heaven and if you did not do anything good you will be in hell. That will be the end of the world according to our catechism.

Nobody is crazy enough to use nuclear weapons and launch own destruction, not even Kim from N. Korea.
Nuclear weapons have always been a means of deterrence and a way of achieving balance in the world.
I think the end of the world will come slowly, with the destruction of our environment and with pollution, because of climate change.
