I saw a thread earlier asking about Philippine based or targeted coins, and there have been a few attempts at a country coin. Is this really something that we are interested in?

The purposes for others was for remittances, for general investing, for bills payments and banking, for OFWs, for rewards, for points.

Would we like something similar to Bitcoin ATMs where you can buy and sell on a machine?

Do we want a free airdrop? Or an ICO? Or a mixture of both? (Bounties of course will be available.)

Discuss.

But i dont see any point putting up a coin kung bitcoin palang wala ideya ang karamihan dito sa pilipinas

I think you are pertaining on PSB which is not totally down, Nagkataon lng na halos lahat ng feature nya ay cover pa dn ng BTC.

IMHO, PH needs a new currency that has a feature of a direct payment to all merchants in the PH and as well as ATM machine which Bitcoin was still not acquired. But I think this feature was already on the future plans of coins.ph which is the most largest BTC firm in our country. BTW, There also an ongoing Filipino based coin which is Business Driven CryptoCurrency based on Asset and Community Building, And if this project becomes successful, It can be a fresh start for PH to engage on a cashless society ideology just like what Jack Ma said on his previous visit here.

And also I have some idea regarding developing new coin, Why not we have a token used for voting in an election, Blockchain is a good tool for election because it is transparent and secured. Just my two cents.  Grin

Gusto ko magkaroon ng ICO tapos yung inoofer nila is debit card for bitcoin (BITCOIN atm).

I think country coins are done. Non-government backed coins should be global.

A country coin needs to be utilized by all (or at least, by the majority) to be treated as such. In this case, creating one would be the least of our interest as the attention for cryptocurrency in our country is low and only the minority will be able to appreciate its use. This lack of popularity stems from the fundamental problem which are needed to be addressed first, that is: poverty, lack of both education and technological innovation.

Would we like something similar to Bitcoin ATMs where you can buy and sell on a machine?

I definitely would like to use one if the fees are reasonable enough. It might act as a marketing tool too for increasing cryptos popularity.

I doubt many would participate in the ICO and actually invest so I think it wouldn't end up pretty nicely. Judging from our local board, most participants would probably just flock in the bounties to get free coins then dump it all out after the ICO.

Agree with you pre. Dadaggan ng banks sa Cashout and Cash-in.

Di naman po sa disagree ako sa idea ng sarili nating coin but the problem here is the trust and the supporters. Nabasa ko yung thread sa bounty nung gawang pinoy na coin and a lot of foreign people do not like what happened dun sa coin. May nagpost pa dun na di na sila magtitiwala sa mga coin made here in the Philippines. And kung maggagawa man tayo, kasi alam ko madami ding pinoy ang gusto, sana suportahan nang iba pang mga pinoy.
We must show other countries na yung Philippine coin is not made out of greed but out of good purposes, I will be supporting this coin the best I could, and I hope ganun din yung iba.

I second the motion for the idea of building a project with quite similarities of coins.ph, time na rin para may kumalaban sa kanila. Adding the concept of exchanging ETH to PHP.
