back of the hands hold up fine. (healing kinda sucks though, mine swelled pretty bad)

buuuuut a lot of artists wont tattoo below the wrist or above the collar line unless you have a lot of work done. its sort of an ethics thing in the industry....tattoos in those areas carry certain social stigmas and repercussions that someone who isnt a heavy collector cant fully understand...believe me, its not a decision to be taken lightly.  however, you are exponentially more likely to find a reputable artist to do the back of your hands as opposed to your palms.

in all honesty, i think it would be moronic for anyone to get their forehead tattooed (face tattoos are frowned upon even in my industry), and i was half joking when i said id do it...but if it actually happens, i dont think i could pass up doing something this crazy (itd be a story to tell clients for years)....
