The recent bitcoin price volatility is particularly large, but the price of eth has been very stable, you choose to buy eth or bitcoin?
 Tongue Tongue Tongue

The ethereum price may more stable than bitcoin, but doesn't guarantee you to make more profit from it.
Ethereum price is stable because eth is used by many ICO's to crowdfunding their project.
Non-hodler of either, apart from maybe $1000 in leftover BTC from exit at 10k after 3-4 years of continuous acquisitions. Basically emotionally disconnected from cryptos now. I've been keeping an eye on # of transactions but I simply can't figure out where these transactions are occurring. Where is Ethereum being used as a transfer of value or trade for goods/services? It seems to me that thus far only Bitcoin has been adopted in any capacity that makes it possible to spend with retailers and service providers. Is there a list of retailers/service providers that accept Ethereum?

I'm not unfamiliar with black markets, either, and at this point while many venders are accepting Ethereum as an option, the majority of transactions seem to be by Bitcoin or Monero.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like the Ethereum transaction stats are still almost entirely relegated to ETH:fiat and ETH:various other cryptos. Is that wrong? If it's not, is that the actual utility of cryptocurrency? I would think not.
This is my opinion

For goodness sake why can't people stop the bickering between Bitcoin and Ethereum. Neither extremes are good. Both will prosper in synergy. Bitcoin is the internet of money while Ethereum will tokenize everything. The future will be awesome. We should join forces and oppose Ripple instead. Banks got us into this mess, and juvenile "my blockchain is better than yours" bullshit is exactly what they want; divide and conquer. Let's rise above.

I agree 100%.

Why choose between eth and btc, just invest in both and stay away from ripple. Grin

Bitcoin and Ethereum is the best choice if altcoins make a significant pump. This two coins is also the safest investment in all kinds of cryptocurrency.

Investing in any asset is based on risk. Here is no exception to Bitcoin or Ethereum. And the risks are the same, in spite of the fact that bitcoin has a longer history. The etherium shows such rapid growth, which equalizes the stability of bitcoin. Although the stability here is also relative, because during the existence of bitcoin, we have seen fatal falls. For the sake of justice, we note that there were more ups. https://goo.gl/ENu9CL. Good ICO for investment. This applies to sex education.

Of course it is preferable to keep both coins but still vote for the etherium as it is more stable and convenient to use in my opinion

Both currencies are very good. I think that it has sense to choose any other currency for holding too. Waves or Ripple are good examples on my mind. Choose them. I am sure it will be nice experience.

It would not be a good idea to put your investment into Ethereum if you are investing in the long term because with the trend that Ehtereum is going it is facing backlash from many of the world's leading political powers these issues are not resolved instantaneously especially when there is a bigger player in the market having the same problems.

If I have the resources, I would buy both coins. But it is very unfortunate that what I have is extremely few.
Going back to the question which to buy between eth and bitcoin, maybe I would buy eth. Eth is relatively stable in comparison, however, that may imply that gains would be definitely low. However, that may be, it still growing no matter how slow.

The question is of course interesting ... Since Bitcoin is the "Ancestor" of all currencies, it is worth looking at it! But against the backdrop of the movements and market capitalization, one should pay attention to the etherium with its capabilities that surpass the Bitcoin! The simplest version is 50X50

Optionally I would choose to hold the ETH, as ETH is a potential coin in the future. They have faster transactional benefits than BTC and low cost. They are considered by potential experts to be able to overcome the BTC over the next few years. I think so, the number of investors holding ETH is increasing.

Both bitcoin and ethereum is good to hold and invest.  Because this two is same potential coin and have future. But in bitcoin you can gain OKnly some profit because the price is very high compared to ethereum is more cheaper than bitcoin si you can make more profit from ethereum because once the price increase very high and it easy double ,triple and so forth the price compared to bitcoin.

Yeah I don't think you can go wrong with investing in both.

Like you said, especially since if btc increases, eth will also increase, win-win situation. Grin
