Hi

I am new in bitcoin mining and I have been trying some different configurations. I own a 6950 unlocked and got 400mhash/s with certain clocks. All is ok in this computer with direct internet connection but I have one internet access with a proxy between and I want to ask if I can use that internet proxy connection for mining.

It is because in that place I can build a dedicate mining server with fans etc.

Thanks in advance
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Should be fine, just use Proxify or something similar to proxy the program.

Yes I know what you said, download Proxifier to make GUIMiner do that.

thanks, that's what I was looking for

one more question, why people use proxys like anonymous proxys in the internet for mining? to prevent password stealing or something like that?

You don't need to. The only things people can do with your miners passwords are mine for you.
