The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I've sold some bitcoin there and withdrew to my bank account.
Only took 4 days for the money.  And since they change the money from USD to GBP BEFORE they send it to your account for free, you don't pay high fees from your bank to convert from USD to GBP.

EDIT: I've read the thread wrong somehow, sorry.  I've not transferred  money INTO Bitstamp.

Hey just wondering if anyone has used this for trading on Bitstamp thanks

After you posted your question, this was posted in another thread:

Just a heads up that http://www.tranzfers.com are no longer prepared to transfer money to Bitstamp.  I arranged a transfer yesterday which they'd received the funds for and marked as "paid to beneficiary" on their website , but they've just phoned me up to confirm that they won't be completing the transaction. One of their banking partners is Citibank so I guess it relates to that.

Hey anyone know how long currencyfair transfers take?

Hi Currencyfair operate UK office hours only.
So don't try as I did and transfer over the weekend.....
But it is a great service when open (Customer service excellent too)
And miles cheaper than a SEPA transfer from your bank to € to destination.

Timeline of my experience
------------------------------
Monday am -> From my UK Bank, £ exchanged for € -> Sent to Bitstamp via SEPA
Tuesday am and the deposit arrived @ bitstamp and they convert it $

about 26 hours and 6% fees (Currencyfair+Bitstamp)
So reasonably painless
The 6% may be less if more is transferred
(I've done this once only so am no expert)

If the bittylicious.com price settles, (Currently about 8.8% over gox, the OP said it should be aprx 5%)
Then this is a miles simpler, instant alternative. (About 20 mins from Bank to 1st confirmation)
So volume would dictate how far you go to save 2.8%

Maybe Bitcoin-Brokers.org will add support for UK banks:

Just thought I'd follow up - Bittylicious's price has gone down a lot now and is now significantly under Gox's prices. Granted, MtGox now seem to quote way above many other markets, but there still has been a good reduction in real terms.
