The plan has changed. We will all join fontas' pump: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4698.0.htmlOld post: We are going to pump LTC.
We already have about $800k (in USD and BTC). [updated at June 27, 2013, 07:44 PM UTC]
Be a part of it. Together we are able to move the prize up very high. Each penny counts. The goal is to make this the biggest pump ever and have LTC stabilized at least at $5 before Mt.Gox will start with their USD/LTC tradings. PM me with the amount of BTC and/or USD you are able to invest (and is already sitting in your btc-e account). Bots for doing the pump will be provided to everyone (licensed by the GnuGPL of course).
We will go to the next step as soon as we have at least $5m together.
|
Next development steps to go (I'm working on the designs): 1. A decentralized cryptoexchange protocol 2. A cryptocoin with a fix USD/Coin rate

We are going to pump LTC very soon. We already have several thousand USD (in USD and BTC). Be a part of it. Together we are able to move the prize up very high. Each penny counts. The goal is to make this the biggest pump ever and have LTC stabilized at least at $5 before Mt.Gox will start with their USD/LTC tradings.
PM me with the following data: - btc-e username - the amount of BTC and/or USD you are able to invest (and is already sitting in your btc-e account) - preferred days and times in UTC (p.e. Mon-Fri from 09:00 to 11:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00)
We will choose the best possible day and time according to the messages we get. We will publicly announce the start of the pump as soon as we are ready (in this thread and on the btc-e trollbox).
Hmmm, do a small pump to $3 today.

These pumps never work when there announced like this. They only work if a small group with lots of money do it in secret randomly.

+1 With a few thousand, you can buy up all the sell orders up till 2.7 on BTC-e. Good luck pumping it.

I never said 'a few thousand', I was talking about 'several thousand'. In fact it's worth more than USD 20K. Sad to hear but Dacm4n seems to be right. Too many people without a brain in here. That way the public network effect isn't going to work and there may will be a fight between pumpers and dumpers. I'll wait for further replies but seems we have to do it secretly once again.

You'll need an order of magnitude more than 20k USD to reasonably affect the LTC price.
Good luck with your efforts but you're pissing into a hurricane with that amount of cash.
I have my own plans for the LTC price.

Fontas is here. LTC price to hit $50 by tomorrow. Fontas is correct at least. $20k USD? There is a $20k USD buy wall at 2.64 right now alone. The other day there was an $800,000 sell wall. There are some big players on there that indeed do get to decide where a coin will go.

Do you really think I'm not aware of that? That's why we try to do it publicly. We already got some people with huge amounts being interested. If we can put together several millions that way the dumpers need to be ready to hold against it.

Hey can I join the Epix Anonymous Lejun pump group? With your 20 k usd and my 20 k usd combined we can push the price by 15 cents. This will be the pump of the century, never forget never forgive.
Not to brag but I am from the 6th anonymous legion myself, on 25th january 2013 our legion managed to slow down the official Polonian Wiener Society website by whole 3 seconds. Justice has been served that day.

500.000 is not enough, you need not less than a couple of million guys. Anyway you don't risk too much since the price will be over 5$ in a couple of weeks. You just have to be sure that ALL of you will respect the agreement...may happen that someone starts it and gets off at let's say 3.5

$800,000 was enough to seriously F*^K the price a handful of days ago. And the Ba$%*rd only lost like 16K of it before LTC jumped up a whole 20%. Yes there were likely other players involved. But let's face it, this is the nature of the game. As soon as you think you know what's happening someone else rolls along with 350,000 LTC to screw it all up again.

I put $20k in LTC in the past week. Probably going to put another $10-20k more in, in the next week or so. In my opinion, it's about as sure of a thing as it gets in the cryptocurrency world that LTC is going to spike massively once its added at gox.

pumping or not, for sure i know LTC have to be placed in mtgox to keep a check on BTC with all the BFL ASIC incomming. If btc diff rocketed 1000% in short time (which is likely with ASIC) while price remain the same, it will be ugly.

They got hacked and all the big wallets emptied who shared their btc-e username and balance here earlier? Troll alert once again? Don't be silly. I hope I don't have to explain why your concern is way out of anything real. Looks like they got DDoSed (once again), but it's just a guess: We don't know why btc-e is down for maintenance either right now. Don't panic guys. I think they will be up again very soon or at least letting us know what's going on (by twitter or this board here) sooner or later. anyone with a Vendetta mask avatar is clearly a hacker and up to no good.

anyone with a Vendetta mask avatar is clearly a hacker and up to no good. As you can see I'm not responding to every stupid post. Even with your ' ', your comment is very inappropriate. You are not the first person in this thread who is calling me a 'hacker'. I'm not here to educate people but sometimes it seems to be necessary to bring some light in here. You guys apparently have no idea what a hacker is. Do your research. People like RSM, Appelbaum and Satoshy are hackers and so am I . Nothing wrong with being a hacker. What you mean is called a cracker. DDoS against others to do any harm can be associated with 'crackers' but related to 'anonymous' it's much more a simple form of any online protest and mostly against authorities driving the NWO agenda 21 further on. These DDoS attacks against any crypto currency service (especially exchanges) are much more likely initiated by 'big brother' themselves. So give me at lest one plausible reason why I should be involved in this. Btw: If you would know me you would know that I'm a bitcoin and litecoin enthusiast and don't have any intention in hurting them (short- and long-term). The reason for the pump we are trying to initiate is just to have a higher ltc prize as soon as Mt.Gox is starting with their tradings. Mt.Gox will drive the prize up to $10 or even more anyway what likely leads into a huge dump by some 'early' adopters. New adopters will be scared away 'again' like it was the case on bitcoins prize correction after the hype caused by mainstream media and Mt.Goxes rush issues. I would like to see a stabilized ltc prize higher than $10 but that seems to be very unlikely in the short-term anyway and possible in the long-term only.

Although I wasn't being entirely serious, assume the attacker got a db dump with single iteration password hashes. Knowing the valuable accounts they can prioritize their hash cracking efforts and it doesn't take much math to realize a decent mining rig cuts through, say, single iteration salted SHA256 password hashes of mediocre complexity passwords, which most sites and users are still using if anything, like a hot knife through butter. Care to clarify why you were initially asking for the "btc-e username" (@mr_random doesn't matter whether this string is also an email address or not) and later removed that part, quoted below? This information is unnecessary for a pump. Anyone with decent amount of money can make a pump. And benefit from it and from its announcement. Why do you suppose the guy that proposed this is a hacker?
Because of what he removed from the original post: PM me with the following data: - btc-e username - the amount of BTC and/or USD you are able to invest (and is already sitting in your btc-e account) - preferred days and times in UTC (p.e. Mon-Fri from 09:00 to 11:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00)

FYI: Btc-e is back up again.
I'm not saying the above is what happened and btc-e being back up is an essential requirement in the hypothetical strategy of the attacker: obviously they would want to login after cracking the credentials. Also the attacker would possibly have been able to dump the entire db, containing all the account balances anyway, but your undifferentiated dismissing the scenario as "way out of anything real" seems curiously inadequate to dissipate doubt. So why were you asking for the btc-e username and further putting emphasis on the "BTC and/or USD already sitting in your btc-e account" particularly as there is no specific date target set yet but you explicitly asked to agree on a future date preferred by participants?

It was because of reaching people by pm on btc-e instead of just in here. Read the entire original post quoted within the second post I believe. Some people claim within the trollbox to have lost some coins but I have no idea if they are just trolling or it's true and the dev team have to fully repair their db first. You'll see that there are no coins getting stolen at all. Your described way of the hack doesn't make any sense. If someone is able to get a dumb from the db the chance they get the funds data too is very high. And even without that info: Wouldn't it make more sense to scan each account slowly over time instead of publicly asking for the data in here using an account with at least some reputation? What kind of pirate would do that?

You would need at least some reputation to even get started wouldn't you? Also the chance being high doesn't equal the chance being 100%. It is entirely possible that an attacker was only able to dump the authentication table with the password hashes, and they would likely proceed in the way described. They wouldn't have time to scan slowly because btc-e would probably notice soon and then inform users to change their passwords. As I said I'm not saying the above scenario happened, and frankly I don't believe it happened, still you didn't seem to even try to dispel the expressed doubts and simply dismissing the possibility as "way out of anything real" and "doesn't make any sense" seems rather dubious. Quite ironic that people are now reporting missing coins though..

I'm just sick of all the 'uh, something really bad is happening' stuff in here. The devs have already mentioned that they had some power issue within their data center which is very unlikely caused by any attackers especially not data pirates. I'm not here to argue with anyone in here. So, please let's get back to the topic.

It is not. Publicly addressing this kind of intention makes me think about what the hidden intentions are. Not just of the OP but others reading this who would consider selling into the pump to offload a lot of LTC that they think they can get back at a lower price after the pump is over. I could see the OP buying in ahead of the pump in order to sell into the pump. The result... many people that are holding LTC for a loss. Either they will be sellers immediately and take the loss or sellers when the price breaks even on them. Either way it creates a negatively in the tradeable asset. I've spend over a decade trading forex and I started in penny stocks in the late 90s. I know the anatomy of a pump and dump I know that the public posting are not what is really happening behind the scenes. I recommend everyone be very careful with this.

Any kind of attempted market manipulation is not good for a crypto currencies reputation. This kind of activity would actually be highly illegal in a regulated market and you would serve jail time. it's like that for a reason (leads to big market crashes, instability and of course unwitting people get burned).

Such market manipulations are 'illegal' because 'normal' people can make a lot of money with em. Laws are made by the powers that be to make sure they don't loose their position. Ask yourself why only the elite can make big money on wall street with similar actions and don't get jailed. As long as this is the case I have to say: Fuck the elite and fuck the law. The plan has changed. We will all join fontas' pump: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4698.0.html

This only works when a small group of people (with lots of coins) do it privately and secretly..
Anyone who follows this "pump" will lose big, don't do it, invest a safe amount (you can afford to lose) in ltc, don't expect too much, sell early enough (before fontas dumps big time)...

This is the free market in action. Free market has no laws, so people f#ck other people, so that people make laws, so that we dont get a free market. Its funny and sad.

"This" referring to a pump and dump disguised as a stable pump scam? Because if not, if fontas plans to proceed as described then clearly it will work whether nobody knows or everybody, he simply has the means to buy up all the sell orders, simple as that.

We will all join fontas' pump: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4698.0.htmlthere is a difference between "rule of law" and the veil of "rule of law". If you can't see the difference then you are clueless. you're still young and naive, you'll learn in time.
