What needs to happen for the restriction to post to other topics to be lifted?

For you to be able to read and not post questions that are already answered... oh, wait, too late.

If this post was useful, interesting or entertaining, then you've misunderstood.

The insinuation is that all newbs spam. I take that as an insult.

Innocent until proven guilty - just ban spammers.

I sorta do too.  There have been so many threads that I've wanted to participate in and I haven't been able to leave a comment.  Hopefully that'll change soon.

There are a lot of popular forums where you can get posting about whatever. But bitcoin is a specific subject a lot of new people don't understand very well.

I'd actually like to see a restriction like this on more forums just to make sure the spam bots fail.

Surely spammers could spam this category and then move on to the entire forum?

I have been mining bitcoin for a while now - just finally got registered on this forum and looking to move out of newb status and not sure quite how yet - this was the first place I found related to that topic - I will keep looking.
Thanks!

You need to be active for 4 hours before losing the newbie status I believe. Also posting a certain amount of posts. It used to be 5 but the system has now changed.

We should remove all restrictions then and let everyone have at it.
