Investing in ico's is something very profitable, but you should really take care about in which ico are you just putting your funds.
It would be a mess if you invest in the wrong ico and you suddenly lose all your funds, it happened to me on the past, and a lot of people are passing through the same because of Coinfido (it is a big ico who scammed everybody in this forum during this days) They rised a lot of money and they just dissapeared with it.
Nobody can know if it is a real scam, but at least, if you find the good one, then it is going to be very profitable.

I would recommend you to invest in ICO only if you spend enough time on researching about the ICO before investing! There are a lot scams around which are hard to distinguish sometimes and seems legit. But if you do a thorough research on some factors, only then you would be able to find the real one. Some key points could be: market existence, proven team, elaborate whitepaper, clear roadmap etc. Always be careful.  Smiley

If you take my example. That I from buying ALTCOINS earned more than ICO. However, the profit from ICO I expect in six months, a year. Then it will be possible to watch. I like the projects in which I put my money. I chose them for a long time, waiting for some.
Before buying some coins, I do not read anything, just see the news in the Telegram. I know this is for a short time.

Actually, both decisions are profitable. Buying altcoins and investing in ICO's will both give you profit. But of course you have to make the right decision on where and when to invest. You have to study it carefully and do a little research about it. In buying altcoins, choose the coin that is already established, with a stable value, and a good reviews or feedback. In choosing the right ICO, you have to study carefully their business plan, read their whitepaper, read their reviews, transparency, and their team. If you planned it carefully, there is a good chance you'll gain profit, if not, there is a chance you might be scammed.

I think both can be profitable. Both has the potential to give you profit, but of course there are always a risk so you have to planned it carefully. There are many scams out there because of some selfish and worthless people so have to choose the right coin and the good ICO. In buying altcoins, maybe the safest way is to buy coins that are established and in the market for a long time already like bitcoin, ethereum, ripple, monero, and lite. In that way, you'll minimize the chance of losing money. In choosing the right ICO, you'll have to extend a little effort in studying it. Check their websites, their whitepaper, the feedbacks, telegram, the business plan, the transparency and the team behind the project.

Anyway, dont invest in ico's if you dont even know how do they work, because you can easily lose all your funds in there and it is a huge risk to run with. Better to invest in those coins that you know how do they work, instead of trying to figure out how the hell you are going to get profit from an altcoin that is never going to get listed and will only give you dividens (i have seen so many cases of those altcoins)
But there are some altcoins that are worth it, you have to pay attention to those big bosses, because they are profitable.

It definately depends on the coin you are going for. Some ico's are good but other times it's a devil in disguise. Look into it thougj. Do your own dilligence that means research.

I have been so long on this forum and I could be stated that it is more profitable in investing on ICO because they will give 30% discount more or less. But in ICO, there's a lot of scam ICO. If you are avoiding scam ICO, you must choose to buy altcoins at a very low price and then sell it at a very high price. Disadvantages of buying altcoins are waiting for a very long time before you can get a real profit.

I think that buying altcoin which is already listed is more safety, because when you invest in a project you can't assure the success of it it's more risky.

If you understand the company offering the ICO, and you believe they are doing something better, then they can be profitable. If you do believe in what you've invested in you can support that company by spreading the word and generally they have a 'Bounty' or affiliate link so you can get others on board...for a bonus yourself. So this in itself can compound your investment. So it works both ways...you help, you get more, and the company gets exposure.
Just make sure you get into a trustworthy and good one!

Participating in ICO's can be more profitable, but it is more risky too. Some have earned up to 10x profit with investing in ICOs. But there is a high probability that you lose your money too. You should be very careful and spend a lot of time and do research on ICOs. If you choose the proper one, you will make a huge profit.

You can also invest in altcoins. There are many profitable altcoins. In this case your money is more safe, especially if you invest in popular altcoins with high market cap like Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash and Monero.

The more profitable for me is investing ICOs but it is to risky. but when you invest you must search the background or information  when you are invest to ICOs. We all know buying altcoins can earn profit and you can save but for me investing is the best.

ICO will make you 10x, 100x even 1000x
But on the other hand i could make you broke in a matter of second Grin

Buying some still cheap but potential alts will be good, 5-10x is achieveable

Yes i agree with you.i guess you have to really do extensive research on the project before investing.I am really feeling bad for those who invested in scam ICO's such as Coinfido. All the same i hope they recover their hard earned monies elsewhere

It all depends on the coin or ICO.

Some early investors get huge discounts on pre ICO sales, prices that little guys will never see, they often dump these coins for less than the ICO price immediately after the ICO is finished for quick gains. When this happens, ICO investors get the shaft (at least until the demand picks back up).

In my opinion, i can say buying Altcoins is more profitable and at the same way you can be sure that you will gain once you sell some altcoins in the right time. Gaining rightful amount is inclined with perfect timing and observation regarding the trades found in the market. Observing the chart how the value fluctuates is a key to determine or predict the prize therefore securing that you will gain once you sell some altcoins. Yes, there is a risk in buying altcoins, one should be sure that the altcoin that he/she bought have a potential to increase in value, for example,, in the past week and days, i am observing the ACC token, i already suspected that it will reach 1ACC = 5 dollars or more, i sold my ACC earlier this week because i needed some eth for the gas, when i look at the chart lately this day, my speculation is right and it pains me to see that the price of ACC today is 6 dollars per token. When i got my ACC token, it cost not more than a dollar and today it cost 6 dollars. Its only a matter of weeks maybe days to gain large amount of income when you buy altcoins than wait or the ICO to finish not knowing if the market value of the token would be fair enough.

Both, really if you know when is to buy and when is to sell. I think the hard and critical part is when to buy and sell after all and not just any different about which is more profitable in 'buying ALTCOINS or investing in ICO'.

I think depend on individuality, because many traders know how to analyze a coin at the ico level and make an informed decision about them and others are specialized on buy an altcoins from exchange platforms and make huge profits. For me I will prefer buying coins when there are listed as I can easily convert them to fiat than waiting for the projects to develop and fund to be invested before see if your funds will be out.

I also favor for these type of ICO which have a high discount in the start as after the end of ICO they when come to exchanges then they are on their high rates and at that time if you sell that tokens then you will get a high profit. These type of ICO have got much crowd of investors and they all are satisfied with that.

Investing in an ICO is way more risky compared to buying an already listed coin in exchanges like ethereum and litecoin. There is no guarantee that coins in an ICO will be surely listed in an exchange but it is more cheap and have a bonus and discounts so its profitable compared to an existing coin already if it become success.

Do you know what ICO means? Those coins which you have said aren't ICO. Those coins already listed on exchange sites and you can't invest in their ICO because it have been ended very long time ago.

Guys what are your suggestions, reviews and experiences on this matter.
Is it advisable to buy potential altcoins already listed on exchanges or invest in ICO's

Both are profitable if you will be able to invest in the right altcoin or ICO. With altcoins already listed, there are a lot of them who are still so very active in developing their projects and some caught attention of big companies or personalities that's why it is mooning. The advantage of it over ICOs is that you can study the movement of the price in the previous months or years so you will have an idea of the lowest or highest price it will be able to reach while in ICO, there is a tendency that it will still stay low for some time before it flies to the moon.

While there are ICOs that are very successful and profitable, there are those that fails to deliver their promise so it depends on you where do you want to put your money. It would be better if you will diversify so that one way or another if one fails, you will still have others to depend upon.

As you said ICO maybe more profitable only if he you invested on the right ICO or all your investment will be lost because many of the ICO are scams and some ICO tokens are really worth to buy so if you wanna invest on an ICO you need to know about their full project and its development team, because good development team can produce profitable and flawless tokens.
And the other side altcoins also give huge returns in the short period of time and some altcoins will give huge returns in long term investment but some will be worthless to buy because their price will decrease by the days.So the profit of your investment will be based on picking the correct altcoin or the ICO.
In my opinion I will invest on altcoins because ICO are totally unpredictable so we have more risk on our investment if we buy tokens.

It all depends on individual capabilities and perspective. Personally, I want to stay away for a while with these ICO as mostly of it are just scam. And it's quite hard to look which is which so I just focus for the meantime with altcoins.
With trading alts, you can at least assure to have a profit some percentage of profit while the ICO token when it got listed in exchange you'll be surprised that it seems like a shitcoin and got nothing.

for me, investing on ICOs gives you a lot profit than buying altcoins but the downside of investing on ICOs is the risk of getting scammed is high since a lot of scam ICOs appearing lately so be careful on investing on ICOs so, if you want lower risk of losing money then buy altcoins that is on the top 10 coins listed on coinmarketcap and don't buy shitcoins.

investing in ico is a good choice because you will get great benefits if it is the right ico, otherwise you will lose your coins because ico fraud is also very much. so you have to be careful in choosing ico.

It depends a lot on the particular project.
Some existing alts are excellent, as are some upcoming ICOs. But equally there are a lot of low quality existing alts and low quality ICOs.

One point I'd suggest is if you're buying coins that are already on exchanges, it can be important to time your entry point properly. Often just when a bitcoin pump is coming to an end is a great time, but again it depends on what that particular coin is doing at the time. So once you've identified a coin to buy, look at recent and upcoming news, look at how it has been trading and think about which way it is likely to move in the short-term.

Guys what are your suggestions, reviews and experiences on this matter.
Is it advisable to buy potential altcoins already listed on exchanges or invest in ICO's
investing in ico is a good choice because you will get great benefits if it is the right ico, otherwise you will lose your coins because ico fraud is also very much. so you have to be careful in choosing ico.

Agreeing with this. Before you start investing in ico, you should probably do a huge amount of research before putting your monry on it. Anyways, if you want the "safest" way, then you should buy a well established altcoins that already listed on exchanges if the price is low. Anyways, you can do both.

So once you've identified a coin to buy, look at recent and upcoming news, look at how it has been trading and think about which way it is likely to move in the short-term.
besides the particular project, the whole market is not good to invest ico noe, most of them will breakout after hitting exchange

In my opinion buying Altcoins is more profitable rather than investing in ICO's because we never know which ICO will be scam before coin distribution. Sometimes after ICO when coin listed on exchange we have chance to buy coin at cheaper price. I left investing in ICO. I think it is more risky So I always buy altcoins when listed on exchange because investing in already listed coin would be more profitable.

If you want to gain profit for a short-term then buying top Altcoins is the best option on the other hand, investing in good ICO will definitely will give you good rewards in the future of you're lucky. Investing an ICO is to much risky and the chance you'll be able to get good profit is 10% that's why you have to choose wisely if you prefer ICO for you long-term goal. Well, for me, I'll go for IDEX that is currently my bounty participated campaign because I know it by my instinct that is this ICO will have a good future and the tokens I'm going to receive will be my investment and wait until the price will rise.

for now investing in ico seems to be profitable. but you must be careful to choose ICO, because if you are wrong in choosing the risk of ICO you will lose your money

Indeed, you must know how to spot fake ICOs because we have already a thousand ICOs today and there's more to come next year. Not all ICOs can guarantee success although they are all claiming it but the competition is very tough across Cryptocurrency world so you must be a good Researcher, otherwise you'll fail if an ICO will soon vanish and your investment will be also.

They both have their advantage and their own risk especially when crypto world is unpredictable world.
On my case, I've try to invest BCH and I have made some profit from it.
For ICO, I try to invest on local project such like Pundi and I'm confident that they also have a good prospect in the future.
I can't said who's the best but both of them are worth to invest as long as you can afford to loss.

You have to clarify those concepts, first, buying altcoins is a mean of investment, you have to take risk like everyone else in the market. On the other hand, investing in ICO need somewhat of a commitment since you're not a individual try to make profit anymore, once you put your money in a project, you become a part of it, there are lots of thing you need to research before deciding to spend your saving.

Investing in ICO may bring you not only a lot of money but take everything irreparably as well. It depends on what ICO you will choose to invest, coz there is lot of scam. Extensive research on the project before investing will definetly help you to assure that you will have a profit.

It depends whether altcoin value is high, i would prefer buying altcoin is more profitable. On the other side of there is a good ICO or you'll know that  if you invest in that ICO you'll get a much better benefit then i'll recommend that investing in that ICO is more profitable, but there is a risk in both. In buying altcoin, you might lose money if its value is decreasing, while in investing in ICO, you never know it might be a scam so, i'd say choose wisely.

In joining or investing ICOs project you must spend some time to read their white paper and platform do some investigate to their project, mostly of ICOs project now are scam then you will loss you fund.
In choosing altcoin to pick up in market exchange choose high volume altcoins it has a growth when the price is up. But for me I don't mind those altcoins I always looked up bitcoin and invest if I have enough capital.

Actually, both are profitable buying altcoins and investing in ICO's. In the purchase, the price of coins you have to buy is low so your money will grow. When investing in ICO's you should be careful about putting your funds, as your investment may be lost. You also need to read and do some research on what to do so you will not get lost.

Investing on altcoins is profitable but most of the peoples looking only top 100 coins listed on coinmarketcap you have to research lot even beyond market cap have to find potentiality of coins and and backing and funds . Investing on ICO bit risky you have to find genuine team there is lots of regulated ICO's are coming better to invest on that its safe investment.

Investing in ICOs can be risky sometimes as you never know how genuine is the project so you need to do a good research by looking at the development team involved in it as in the past there were many ICOs that have scammed people and if you have any doubts about ICO then better to invest in altcoins that are on the top on the charts.

in my experience, it is always good to buy potential altcoin already listed on exchanges than to invest in ico because we don't know or we are not sure that the ico will succeed or not. but if we buy altcoin then we have opportunity to make a big profit in future especially if we already done to research and found that the coin really have a good potential in the long term. I am not too often invest my money in ico because my chances is small to find a good ico and I prefer to choose altcoin in exchanges.

Buying potential alts that already exist and gain a good support will be better than investing on ICO's.

Soo many ICO's arising these days and it makes it soo difficult to know the right potential project.Above all you can still conduct your own deep research to determine the best

i much prefer investing in ICO specially to those already been known by many like ETH LTC BTC NEO and so on.
Everyone has his own way of looking up at the things but I think of investing in altcoin to be more profitable than that of investing in ICO. It is because of the reason that there are so many coins in altcoin like that of ETH which you can use for doing day trading. It will for sure help you in having a huge amount of profit but for that you need to polish your trading skills in a better way.

investing in altcoin is a good idea but you need to be very analytic like you rightly stated. This is not attained just a day .However one can easily earn a great amount of profit or lose massively as well.

some projects will seem soo perfect and realisitic during its launch days but after getting listed on exchanges everything turns  around leaving the potential good project hanging in the air.

ICO market is totally oversaturated right now. The risk/reward was much, much better in 2016 and the first half of 2017. I'd say just investing in already established projects that are already trading is a safer bet than trying to navigate the 100's of ICO's on the market now.

Well firstly they are the same thing, you're just buying at a different stage in the process. I would say that ICOs generally can have greater returns but its harder to pick a good one and so the risk and variance is much higher. There is often also a drawn out process in ICOs so it favours more longer term investment than perhaps buying some already established altcoins in anticipation of a pump.

I think that investing is a bit more profitable. But buying currency is less risky. In order to invest, you have to understand very well the conditions of the crypto-currency market. That`s why i`s more profitable. When you see the full picture, you know, what crypto currency is worth investing in, you can foresee the ups and downs of prices, then you have more chances to become a winner.

Investing into altcoins and ico's were almost the same. Because with ico, we're not sure whether the growth happens after the listing. If grows high it is profitable and similar is with altcoins, it has got a market through circulation but it is hard to predict when it becomes uptrend to cash out or make a trading.

If you are experienced enough both can be very profitable. There are more scam ICOs then ever nowadays but if you know the market well enough you can find profitable ICOs that can help you make money in good amounts. Alt coin trading can be more risky but have faster results.

I think this way:
- long term; my prefered altcoins
- short team; ICOs to gain money to invest in my prefered altcoins
- trading; gain money trading, which I invest in my.... prefered (A-class) altcoins

At the end I got my bags full with the prefered altcoins.
And by doing it this way, I can also play the trading game a little Smiley

All altcoins once passed through ICO stage. Ico is profitable if it will become a hit altcoin. You can take advantage of the bonus offering of ICO to make a big profit when the project is listed on an exchange.
