Yes Airdrops are profitable and free also.But at the same time some the airdrops are scams also and it is very important to beware of theses scams. Sometimes we can get numbers of Tokens from airdrops which have their great values also and you will get huge profits then. This token is pre- defined in the campaign and you will some percentage of tokens on airdrops. Sometime their is time limits for the air drops and only few numbers of participants can participate in it so just be quick to grab all free tokens from Airdrops.

It depends from which point of view you watch the case.

• Airdrops are profitable for participants, I mean it's free money (little amount though) in exchange of nothing.
• For companies, it's quite different. The majority of the participants sells their token right after their aidrop and the price of the coin drops thereafter. In some case the amount received during an airdrop is very low (approx $1). I've seen people paying more fees selling their aidrop than the actual return on 'investment'.

I bet that almost all the erc20 token airdrops are scam, especially when their main "attraction" is speed...while every erc20 token transacts at the same speed.

If you're being after for collecting tokens then Airdrops might useful but in terms of profit then I think only few of them are really giving good tokens but when they did, it is almost no value and that's why I stopped joining Airdrops because I do receive some tokens before but until now they didn't hit any cryptocurrency exchanges so that's why I won't participate to any Airdrops anymore.

Well I participated in about 10 airdrops and 9 of them at the cost of received tokens less than 5 dollars, but one of them shot and I sold it for 120 dollars

 not always, but sometimes it can get pretty good airdrops. but if you spend  the energy for bounty campaign insted of you spend on for airdrop, you earn more
