Yes, Bitcoin is one step above ETH in the market cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin is the most accepted cryptocurrency worldwide, has the biggest market cap, biggest trading volume, and it has proven to be more profitable than ethereum in the long-term (this allows btc to get an influx of new money more frequently), so inverstors and the like are more 'attracted' to btc. ETH price was stagnated for a long time but It's only now that is gaining more attention due its surge in the price and faster transactions/low fees. It is true that Ethereum is the biggest altcoin in the market,  but I think it's fair to say that Btc, with almost 54% dominance in the market, is the most important cryptocurrency in the world, and there's a reason why Ethereum is considered just an "altcoin".

I think Bitcoin is more important than Ethereum. But they're both important in their ways. Bitcoin is the first crypto, and altcoins just get their idea in Bitcoin. So without Bitcoin there were no altcoin. And in Ethereum if you look it up carefully you will see that there some good advantage too. Bitcoin is much more important than Ethereum. If people notice that Bitcoin was made pretty much from scratch then there would be no comparison.

Ethereum too grew from the scratch. Even by the end of the past year ethereum was not listed to many exchanges. It grew unexpected and all of the suddenly the growth peaked and little by little get listed to more exchanges gaining good market value. Both were important in different form.

bitcoin is just the same currency as ethereum though! bitcoin is not control by anyone and it has no company running with it , unlike the ethereum theres a team developing the coin and once the company run with the money and stop the project all ethereum may gone to zero value.. this is how strong bitcoin in the market!

Bitcoin and ethereum are playing a big role in our life and to the community for the present generation, that's why it become important to us. But, it doesn't mean that we can't move without this. Would their have been Ethereum without Bitcoin? I don't think so. And since Bitcoin is and remains marketleader how can Ethereum ever become more important than Bitcoin? While the price of Bitcoin keeps getting higher and higher, the BTC value of Ethereum keeps getting lower and lower because it keeps remaining around the same dollar price, it even lost some of that. During the last two months it went from 0.09 BTC to today's 0.03 BTC value, that shows that it can't keep up with Bitcoin and keeps struggling.
