Ethereum at $1000 in Jan 2018?

$ 1,000 is a very real amount for the ETH. I think that you can invest in it now and in January you will get a profit. Perhaps ETH grows not so fast as Bitcoin, however it is stable at its price

Ethereum has some important upgrades and will be change in coin mining from pow to pos, so it is a very importand changes and nobody knows what will happen at the price of Ethereum

It is obviously a very realistic amount. Although, there has been so many ups and downs and finding it hard to break resistance, so for now, I would not want to keep my hopes too high as even the current value can just drop any time. But no one really knows as there are lots of surprises in the crypto world, so I guess we just have to see. End of 2018 is still a long time from now and I do not expect ETH to be the same by then, so $1000 can still be possible.

I think so. I think that Ether would be the next thing to bitcoin for the upcoming year. Just check how Bitcoin rised from 600$ and now 8000$ in just a few months. Ether would reach up to 2,000$ By next year of may nor august.

I`m sure ETH will cost $1000 and even more in 2018. This crypto currency shows amazing results. Since the beginning of this year ETH has increased to a great number of times. In my opinion, it can easily beat Bitcoin next year. ETH has a wonderful future. I`m definetely going to invest in it.

if you plan for Long term i sure it can hit 1000$ even 2000$
but if you just wanna trading,dont expect to much for january 2018.
to many event for BTC by end of this year.

yes why not Ether 1000$ in Jan-18, this is the reason- Ethereum is an open software platform based on blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications.And now a days you can see many many ICO coming with Ehereum platform.And technically Ether made a huge break out at $350 level and its now trading at 410+ level, You have seen Ether rose more that 25% in last 10 days.So I will not surprise if Ether touch 1000$ in next 3-4 months.

Ether has risen by more than 5,000 percent since the start of the year.

The rally followed a prediction from billionaire investor Mike Novogratz that ether would hit $500 by the end of the year, while bitcoin reaches $10,000. Novogratz said that investors are pouring into cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ether because of the lack of trust in financial institutions following the 2008 crash.

But reaching $1K in January is a goal that Ethereum can achieve but not as soon as that. Perhaps, it will reach that mark mid 2018.

in the future ethereum price will fall more. 2018 will be lower than 2017 and 2019 will be lower than both of these years. it is only because this altcoin has an unlimited supply and a huge amount of it is being created every day. you can compare the price movement of ethereum (on the charts) with similar altcoins which have unlimited supply.

take Dogecoin for example of an extreme one. it has a huge supply and no cap. the price has been declining for years and it keeps going lower and lower. soon it will reach less than 10 satoshi and eventually die.

that is how supply and demand works.

I have the same thoughts, glad to see such clever man on this forum. But one thing -  Vitalik can change the emission of ETH, burn a part of them or something like this.

It depends on the problem solving. If all EHT's obstacles will be over came and all problems will be solved - the price will instantly rise.
As I already told many times on this forum, ETH has a really great potential and it needs to be revealed. I also believe in ETH and hold it but no one can say at this stage
when it's price will increase and how much it will cost next year.
As we see it's price is increasing now slowly. But still increasing.

Well, with Ethereum's centralized development and leadership, there's really no significant opposition to any steps they will take to "solve their problems". If something like the DAO hack couldn't upstage ETH, if all the various Parity issues didn't dent support for ETH, if their hardforking took place with minimal fuss (drama was all internal and seldom spread out here), then I don't see how it can ever be held back by obstacles.

Price-wise though, it is only now returning to its old ATH. While Bitcoin continues to push for new ground. 1k ETH is simply unrealistic. Try $500 first.

As others have said... i've been looking at the forecasts for ETH and I don't think it will be next year early on if it reaches $1000 probably back end of 2018... But as always with the coins.. the increase/decrease can change dramatically so although the prediciton is for end of 2018... if all of the issues with it get resolved I could see it rising quicker... possibly in June? But thats only if some of the problems are resolved with it

this is too much. i think that price will be reach by ethereum when around august next year and not by january. that is much and unbelievable when it happens. this is only my suggestion but i think you must still buy a ethereum because its price will increase but not that much.
