hello there,
i´am new to bitcoin mining. i signed up at bitminter.com and installed
the latest version of the bitminter client. when i start the engine the
hashrate gphs stays at 0.00.

can anybody tell me what i did wrong?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Well, then, if you want to mine Bitcoin you need to get a Bitcoin miner.  An Antminer S9 or an Avalon 741 would be a good start.
