I've seen it before its not common but i've seen some sites use one crypto to wrap another, I've seen cryptos also that switch between cryptos based on block #, seems to be overkill but hey each project needs its hook.

Many have more than 1 algo. DigiByte and Myriad have 4 each iirc.
A simple google search gave me this list: https://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/4c316k/multialgo_coins/
and it is a year old, and quite short, so if you do some research I think you'll find way more coins, both newer and way older than a year back.
