It's because you are using a newbie account. Newbies can only show images through personal messages if I'm not mistaken. But when posting or replying to a thread, the image does not display and turns into a link instead. Just for now, you can ask for help from a higher ranked member in the forum to quote your post containing the image for you because you will still rank up and turn into a jr. member in a month. By then the image would be visible already and you can ask them to delete the quoted post. But if you urgently need to post it by yourself then I suggest that you upgrade to copper membership.

It's because you're still a newbie. On bitcointalk, there are multiple ranks. Once you've gained enough activity you level up to the next rank. By reaching higher ranks, certain features will be unlocked. You have to be a Member (60 activity) to be able to post images.

You can also choose to use a faster method: Paying a small fee to get the Member perks without having to post actively for 2 months.

It's actually a very small amount considering how the price of most crypto services goes up recently.
