Hmmm it could be because of the wallet. ETH's wallet capable to store other altcoins in it's wallet. And there's a lot of new altcoins keep coming, I think this is what causes the price of eth to rise. It's only my opinion though

I generally view Bitcoin as the rising tide that lifts all boats. If you're not familiar with that saying, it means the success Bitcoin brings to cryptocurrency makes all cryptocurrencies to do better. The here are times when ehtereum does not trade in symmetry with Bitcoin, but generally it seems that most currencies trade the same direction as Bitcoin more times than not.

It likely has to do with Bitcoin making intense gains, I don't think that there is going to be any difference from patterns like that. Most of the time when BTC goes up, everything else does, and when BTC goes down everything also goes down. Some of people wanting to make money on other investments, some of people gaining confidence and being willing to invest more in tokens that were previously a bit more uncertainty.

I recommend looking into various market tracking tools in the future, you'd probably see a lot of the patterns that I'm telling you repeated in the past and probably in the future too.

This is what I was waiting for . I had purchased alot of ETH when the prices were roughly near 300 USD . I have decided that I will not touch that thing for like 2 years . Basically after 2 years when the prices of ETH will be equal to the current prices of Bitcoin, that day I will become pretty rich by just holding ETH. So just a suggestion , it's still not late . The Ethereum price could not be left. It needs to at least have the value that would equal to how much it is per Bitcoin and not per USD.
That is just my speculation, I dont really what could be the main reason behind it.

In my opinion, the reason why etherium is on a rise is because there are more people trading eth and btc though bitcoin may seem to be on a constant rise, etherium is just stable gradually rising; unlike bitcoin the support that etherium gets from the people is much less than bitcoin; i dont mean that it is because of few traders are into etherium what i am pertaining is that there are businesses that accepts bitcoin than etherium but there is nothing to worry about because etherium is going to rise, it may be slow but still we will be making profit out of it.

This should not come as a surprise to anyone. The reality is, Ethereum is backed by major players. I heard Putin is good friends with Buterin. Those names might be in the wrong order right now (arguably), but in the future Buterin will likely become one of , if not the richest person on Earth. ETH simply has so much utility. There was a developer's meeting last week and a lot of companies shows interest in using Ethereum Smart Contract that's why it looks like they have somewhat have a second wind and even breaks its previous high. We may see a lot of industries as well took advantage of Smart Contract so its not only Bitcoin has a bright future but Ethereum as well.

Crossing $500 will be the next challenge. However, I think it's really achievable. So much trust and confidence has already been put in Ethereum that I have no doubts that maybe $550-$700 could easily be touched this year. And lest we forgot it, ETH based ERC20 tokens are being offered as investment of most ICO's.

Just my opinion though, the adoption of Ethereum smart contract is already done by so many company which starting an ICO since centuries, it's nothing new but why it could affect the market and making new ATH reached. it's just strange tho, but however, the price increase of ethereum is kinda a good thing, so many ERC20 token get carried by this increase.

Its being along wait for the investors who had invested heavily in the ETH considering the next big coin after the btc as per market capitalization. But overall in this year its not rallied much currently also its trading at 460$. Approx 1000$ some months back was expected till year end but now it seems it will be in 500$ range only.
