Im saying, its not a bad thing to have an alt community, Mine LTC, Yes of course, more should be mining BTC, or buying BTC, but it should be those two coins... if we all did that, supported it, and PUT AS MUCH EFFORT INTO GROWING BTC AND LTC FURTHER ACROSS THE WORLD AS YOU ALL DO IN MINING AND PROMOTING ALTS THAT DIE THE NEXT DAY, we would all make a lot more money. |

Read more carefully, and what you may not understand is that if ALL effort was put into BTC and LTC, we would all make much more, yes, you can make money pumping and dumping alts. but its chump change... Some of you may consider fractions of BTC, or 5, 10, or 30 BTC chump change, in the end, BTC and LTC will make you much much more when it gets widely accepted more. |

I agree with this mostly, I do think that when cryptocurrency becomes mainstream a few of the namecoins will also make it up there. Bitcoin and litecoin are the only valuable ones now but I doubt in the end cryptocurrency will be solely based on them two.

All the developers are making shit coins instead of rallying behind one coin. Our chances of beating Bitcoin are becoming more slim as each day passes by.

The biggest divide here is between the people looking for profit and the people looking for innovation.
Additionally, the fact that these coins exist does not mean that there is much hashing power going towards them.
The future of cryptocurrency as a whole relies on the innovations and failures of these coins. The people who are most upset about these coins are those who feel that they could be getting more money if everyone were to work towards their specific goal.
Bitcoin and Litecoin need to be able to stand on their own and gain support from their merits, not the fact that they came first.
