Bitcoin Price Will Reach $40,000 in 2018？

Is there anything to think again right now? I stopped thinking the moment bitcoin's value hit $10000 before the end of November just when we were expecting it to hit before December and a whole lot of us even doubted it at the beginning of this year. Now we have bitcoin above $11000, and to me, I would rather just keep looking at the charts to see the wonders that are upcoming before the end of this year and 2018. As far as I am concerned, anything is possible.

I wouldn't surprised if bitcoin hits 50k USD in 2018. I believe 2018 will be HUGE for crypto in general and market cap of all cryptos. We might even get a new better "ether" or sthg.

Honestly, yes, $40k in 2018 is completely possible. I wouldn't be terribly shocked to see Bitcoin above even $50k next year. I think there is a good chance we're gonna hit $100k in the next two years.


We hit $7k 4 weeks ago. Hit $8k what like 10 days ago? Hit $9k just a few days ago. Hit $10k last night. Hit $11k today (above it already globally, USD markets working on break through it now).

So yeah taking off another $9k up to $20k in the next few months is very possible, and after that, only doubling the price the rest of 2018 almost seems too easy! I'm holding out a small space in my mind for the possibility that Bitcoin could even get close to $100k in 2018.

Nahhh... I'd love to see it, but I think the market needs to cool down first. Reaching USD 10,000,- as soon as 2017 was already beyond my wildest expectations, I can't imagine the market keeping up like this. I'm really bullish, but I just can't.

I hope 2018 will be mostly sideways action, with a slight upwards trend. I fear we might enter a bear market soon. Either way, my guess for when BTC will reach USD 40,000,- will be 2021 the soonest, ie. after the halving of 2020.

It was actually beyond anyone's wildest expectations.
No one believed it could even happen sooner and so many of us expected that we may just get close to it before the year runs out.

I expect there would be some corrections very soon and just as you have said, nothing much may happen that much in 2018, but I would definitely leave some doors opened for surprises. If some news ends up as expected, sideways or huge corrections would be the last thing we will see on the charts.

Even accounting for surprises (as far as you can account for them) Bitcoin rarely reacts to news the way you expect it to react. The longer I watch Bitcoin, the more I realize how little I understand the market. I think I've become fairly good at guesstimating short- to mid-term bottoms (or at least I got lucky) but Bitcoin's chase for ever new ATHs will always remain a mystery to me. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. Best rollercoaster ticket ever.

Bitcoin is really strange reacts to different news. It is impossible to predict its behavior. I think that next year my word should be said trade. If the major Internet sites start to accept bitcoin then it will definitely affect the price of bitcoin and we can see this rise of prices which has never been seen. I have high hopes for next year.

I see many threads similar to this thread, in which bitcoin price will reach $30,000 in 2018 I think this ability is higher. But anything can happen, you can be right.

Don't know about reaching 40000$ but i can say that with the rate it is increasing day by day i can assure that everyone is going to be enjoying this end of the year on Christmas and new year with the profit they would have earned . Also, the next year is going to be more exciting and more spectacular for the people earning in bitcoin. And i hope that price reach 40000$ by the next year i could save for a new car which i will buy for my father.

If it becomes I am going to upgrade to a new house lol and I am not kidding, just 2.5 bitcoins with that price will give me a new better house than the one I am actually living in. In my opinion I think that bitcoin price can vary during 2018 from 15.000 dollars up to 25.000 dollars but I hope I am wrong in the upper side prediction. It looks like we are going to have a very nice holidays during the end of this year.

Yah, we don't know what will be the future value of bitcoin, because as you can see thr value of this coin is continue fluctuating in the market as of today.  Hence, I believe that bitcoin price was continuosly grow and grow until 2018 and I would say anything can happen next year.

I would think that is kind of difficult, however the possibility is there, but I think we may get closer to 20k or 25k that seems a more conservative estimate, however I would not mind if bitcoin skyrocketed to that huge amount in the next year since I will get great economic benefits if that happened.

I believe that this could happen, because the one who made the prediction of bitcoin to reach such a value revealed it on a TV show. He(Novogratz)  has made the price predictions precisely and the same has taken place in the past with our bitcoin. Hope this time too the prediction go accurate reaching the quoted value.

FUD is not working anymore, The Chinese tried and they crashed the market for only three days, that is nothing if even one of the most powerful countries of the world cannot suppress the price for nothing more than a few days then that means that bitcoin is unstoppable.

Why very high for 2018 dude? BTC made 11x in 2017. If it only makes 4x, we pass $40,000 price clearly. This is not a high price expectation for me.

Very bold prediction, but possible in my opinion. In February some people wrote about +10000 dollars per one bitcoin until the end of the year? Who believed in that, I thought price will go high but not so high to be honest. Price is 11000 dollars and price didn't stop rising, good news are still coming, adoption is taking a swing and if next year can be better then this year then price can reach 40000 dollars, I believe in that. This year price is already on x11, what is x 4 next year. That is possible in my opinion, I'm here long enough to know that bitcoin is capable for that.

I think no, a huge price of bitcoin is depends on the volume but there is a time that bitcoin fall. Because of being beneficial of bitcoin to the user it has a side that will cause of decreasing or crashing the bitcoin. Now, bitcoin has many challenges that need to solve like using this in illegal transaction, if this will happen maybe the bitcoin will not continue in their goal.
