Depends on level of risk, bitcoin is the most stable crypto and less likely to go under. If it does it'll most likely bring the entire market to it's knees for a good few years.

An altcoin on the other hand, if that dies most people won't care. It'll have 1 or 2 topics on the forum then be forgotten about. On the flipside, if you search for returns over shortest period, altcoins excel in this category. Bigger risks bigger rewards.

You gotta do your own research for this one. The community is pretty divided between "Bitcoin is going to surge past $10k and go much higher before Q2 2018" and "The price is way too high and is due for a big correction down to potentially $5k in the very near future". You have to choose which side you're on and invest accordingly (i would recommend hedging your bet a little bit the other way in case you end up being wrong!)

Yeah no shit, some ICO end up with no price when listed on market cause investor sell his coin immediatly to gain quick buck. But there a lot of ICO who really turn to gold just need to do some reasearch and youll be fine

By saying altcoins, we generally don't mean those new ICO tokens. We mean those common altcoins with a history in the market. The selection is up to you because you're the only one that will know your own risk management.

Splitting your investment is always the best way to go in general as it limits risk. I would say split your investment about 50/50 between bitcoin and 3-5 alt coins that you like the look of.

That's a good choice, but i go with bitcoin.

Bitcoin is pumping right now and no one knows when next drop will be.

I think a strong investment portfolio should be based primarily on bitcoin and if you want a long-term investment, I would suggest ethereum.

Therefore,  i would split this way:

Bitcoin 70% - short-term

Ethereum 20% - long-term

Promising ICO 10% - risky one.

i do not recommend now for you to buy bitcoin because its value is so high. You can buy altcoin , and etherium is one of the best buy. Or you can even buy other altcoins that you want. There are many coins in the markets that are have the big potential to rise in 2018. Like powerledger , blue , btcred , and etc. Want you choose in the end is the most important.

Both of them make sense, some of the alt coin also got a good rising, so it depend on yourself you want a short or long term investment, but if you want  to buy bitcoin you better wait a while seems like there will be a correction, but if you okay with buying a little bit expensive then go for bitcoin, savung it for long term you  will definitely see the profit

Bitcoin price is so high now. I think you should split.. Like 70% for btc and the 30% for altcoins. Eventhough bitcoin's price is so high now but I'm sure it'll rise even higher.

I recommend buying both bitcoin and altcoins. I think bitcoin is perfect for long term investment, it's price will definitely goes to the moon someday. And same are altcoins, and you don't have to choose, I know you can earn profit by choosing either one of them. But it is up to you what would you choose, to where do you think you can earn much more profit?

Don't rely on our answer on what ya gonna buy sir, It's a hard decision to make bitcoin right now is almost 10k it's expensive and there's a really big risk if you're gonna hold maybe it suddenly crashed or something bad might happen you're gonna lost a lot of money there but if you play you're cards right your gonna have a lot of profit, but if you hold altcoin i think it's better if you're a daily trader altcoins value is really volatile much more volatile than bitcoin but it's not as expensive than bitcoin.

Obviously bitcoin is miles ahead of every other altcoin. If you have money and you're investing you should go all out for the ultimate. It's not bad to gather a couple of altcoins but if you've got the money shoot for the stars. At least you're assured of stability of bitcoin relative to the altcoins.

You can try to divide your maount into the altcoin and bitcion, but i suggest you to put more on the bitcoin, but this is not the correct time to buy the bitcoin as the major milestones for bitcoin already reached and i will expect another drop asap caused by the bitcoin already touched its peak.

Look what is going on the crypto market — it is not only Bitcoin that rose to the Moon. Ethereum Classic growth is fantastic (even if it now going down, but all alts.)! Korean guys made everything to raise this alt. However, I would recommend you investing into other alts, too – Monero, Zcash, Ripple. Litecoin also.

I suggest you to invest in BTC and altcoin to diversify the risk. Depending on your trading objective, you can choose to invest more in BTC (maybe around 70%) if you want lower risk and lower profit.

As for altcoins, do some research before investing. My suggestion are ETH and XMR.
