Mostly speculation. People are buying bitcoins and expecting to make money when they sell at a higher price. they won't buy bitcoin if they don't know what it is. considering nowadays a lot of big global media reports about how the price of bitcoin reached 10,000 USD makes people curious and start make a quick learning then decide to make a speculation to invest. the point are indeed the popularity push the demands , it could keep growing for at least in the next few weeks. |

Yes the more the demand the higher the price.That is what my opinion is.And as for now I cannot buy bitcoin for it value.As of now it is so high.I am afraid that it would easily go down too.

I think i should agree with that popularity dictates demand. As people gets curious, the more they wanted to know, the greater chance they get into Bitcoin world results to greater demands that leads to higher Bitcoin price which means profit to all investors.

I agree, the higher the demand the greater the value. The circulating bitcoin in the industry is limited so the value have to ho higher as there are many people becoming curiois and interested in btc.

There's no simpler way to explain it. The more bitcoin rises in value, the more people will get interested and invest. It's a cycle. When there's bulk selling, then the price goes down and then people will buy in again raising the value once more |

Yes, bitcoin is gaining huge popularity each and every day and that is giving it a serious bullish push and without doubt it would keep giving it further push as we enter next year. I would not really say most people really have the full understanding of bitcoin and which is why little spikes like this have been followed by huge drop in price as a result of FUD. A lot of investors these days with the speculations going on are seeing bitcoin as a means of investment and that is all they know without even considering the risk. |

The price being 10x in a year? Why would you say that without any facts to back it up? I'm in bitcoin whether the price in fiat goes up or not because I believe in it as a currency. You can't generate more bitcoin out of thin air like you can with garbage government created bullshit fiat. |

The popularity brings people and get interested to it, the amount of supply of bitcoin stays the same 21 mil. Therefore the value could just increase and just imagine if 100 million people using bitcoin, and everyone want to hold bitcoin as much as possible. |

If any new developments occur at that time,bullish trend may even continue for even more months. In short,we could say that there is more probability for bitcoin demand to increase here after. |

in my opinion, popularity means increase in value because when a certain object like for example GOLD is in demand. suppliers will have the guts to increase its value so that they could obtain more profit since even the value increases they know that it will still be in demand and consumers will buy it regardless of its value increase.

It's not just that. If what you are saying is the only reason people are buying, then we would be in the bubble many people still talk about. There is a huge hype around bitcoin, and a lot of it comes from emotions and speculation. I won't argue with that. But let's not forget that bitcoin has real practical use, so there are a lot of people buying because they know bitcoin has all the potencial to become a new store of value asset, and if you compare it to other assets on the same category, like gold, then you must agree that bitcoin price is still very small, and it has great investment potencial. This of course is still speculation, and it could go wrong. It all depends on how regulation is done, and how investors will deal with it, but I it's not just "popularity" with no actual potencial that justifies it's popularity. |

The demand is what is driving the price of bitcoin and the high the demand the high the price. This is the law of demand in practical and this law is also law of economic! Many people are becoming aware of bitcoin and others cryptocurrencies and since bitcoin provide many advantages that others form of currency could not provide many people like to use it. I think we still have a long way to go since blockchain technology is still at the developmental stage in the area of acceptability and we should hold what which we have as there is no end to this bullish momentum. |

Advancing technology plays a role on bitcoin popularity and affecting its value. As years passed, new technologies emerge and human tend to utilize it in order to have and efficient life. In the past years, money was then in the form of carved metal coins, then paper money and then came credit cards and atm cards, now its the bitcoin. Imagine carrying different types of currency your pocket worth 1 million as opposed to that same amount accessed thru your phone.
