Hello, just looking back here to say I am still confirmed. I remembered about it last week, but then forgot and I thought I missed the deadline as it was supposed to be end of December? But good to see I did not miss anything.
You will include us in a private message when everything is ready to pay, right? I should be happy Bitcoin has recovered a little from the end of December. Hope to see all of you 21 players soon. I am very ready to win this competition!

I extended it to the next round of games as it wouldn't have left much time to collect the money in and get everyone signed up to the BBC predictor site. I will mostly likely send everyone a message tomorrow with payment details and the pool will then start on the Saturday so gives everyone a chance to get signed up. |

Any news about the start of the betting pool V2.0? I was expecting to receive a payment request from hilarious since yesterday and his last post is about it and starting the pool this Saturday. Or the cause of the delay is because we are still short in terms of participants in the new pool that is why there is no payment request just yet?

I'll start it for the next round. Been busy/lazy and there won't be enough time to get everyone signed up and sorted before the games on Saturday. I'll make sure to get it sorted for next week and very likely PM everyone on Tuesday so we've got the whole week to collect in funds. |

Bitcoin has taken a bit of a hit the past few hours so should I still send the address out today or maybe give it a day or two to see what happens regarding the value? If it keeps falling the prize pot might not end up being much and might be unfair to people paying different values as we collect the money in. I think people are unnecessarily panicking like they always do but I could see it falling more during the day as people wake up and panic which will have a knock on effect, but hopefully it'll settle once the dust has cleared (but you never know with weak hands in bitcoin and I think there'll be a lot of newish investors who bought in with the rally in December who will panic and want out especially with all the "bubble" and "end of bitcoin" headlines that will pop up all over during today).

You could start sending out the payment address to everyone now, but include that if they don't want to pay today, due to the instability of Bitcoin right now they can wait until x deadline.
Otherwise, we could have the issue of sending the payment information out too late and some people not meeting the deadline. So in both instances the pot wouldn't be as big. As long as the information has been sent then it's up to the people involved whether they want to pay now, or closer to the deadline.

I don't think bitcoin will go under $10K(or maybe it will? Who knows... ). 20 GBP = 0.00237183BTC at the moment. What do you think about collecting 0.0025btc from everyone? So everyone will send equal amount...of btc. |

I'm on with anything. Probably best to fix a rate close to the value on the day... marlboroza's suggestion of 0.0025 BTC sounds like the best. Even if Bitcoin drops a further 20% it'll be enough-ish. We shouldn't worry though, by the time the league's over, BTC will be at a new ATH  Mempool won't get any better than this too, so I'd rather make payments soonish, 151 sats/byte looks good enough for a 6-hour confirmation time right now. 15 games left so this will feel like a quickfire contest. Can't wait for a chance at >0.05 BTC! |

Whatever you think is best. I guess I'm a little bias because I don't really care about the current price of Bitcoin. I would be happy to send in an equal amount of Bitcoin, rather than fixing it to the price. Obviously, it's already been agreed to send in to the price on the day, so it probably wouldn't be right to fix it to a Bitcoin value. |

Can't wait cause this is the first pool I have participated in for the EPL. Pretty stoked.  |

It would be fixed to a btc amount but that value could be vastly different between the current price and when the last person pays (and maybe they just wouldn't bother). I was actually thinking of rounding it up and making it 0.0025 last week but that was then worth £25. Now it's £17 and with the way things are going it could be much less. I'll see how it goes. Missing another round isn't the end of the world. Would rather wait till the dust settles and btc stabilises before we try get everyone signed up. |
