Of course, altcoin can still survive if bitcoin gets more expensive. But not all of them, maybe just some of the surviving altcoins.

I n my own observation ICO and bitcoin are playing different rule in the crypto currency world. While Bitcoin is mainly for trading were traders and investors are crazy holding and dumping with thier coins ICO is also promting thier coins to the investors and good things about ICO is having or promoting functional product in which developing a services and product which usefull to the community like for instance green project for the environment. While investing you are also supporting functional product.

I would agree to you on that. But there are lots of fake ICO's project. The no. of these fake ICO's overwhelmed the projects that have good intentions that is why people are starting not to trust new ICO project.

Of course, altcoins will survive and most likely even survive many coins that are now included in the top 10. Therefore, this question should not even be raised, because the answer to it will surely be!

I agree but some people raise these kind of questions mostly while altcoins are going down. Just getting opinions of others not bad. Actually good to see community belief.

Absolutely yes , altcoins will survive infact this is the year of cryptocurrency . Altcoins like eth , monero , zcash , deepOnion etc have so much future ahead . These coins are become the need of the market , so how can it will be dead ? Thinking about alt-coin survival is not a subject now days , holding the right coin is the game in 2018 . So yes altcoins will survive.

Yes, but I think only some of Altcoins will survive depending on the demand on the market, their technology behind and their 'real' & 'go-live' products (Top 20).
Long to short, BTC will grow at the demand-able rate, 'good' altcoins will grow and survive  and spread out across industries, and 'bad' altcoins will disappear.

They'll survive only if they would stay profitable and that's the only way. Most of them aren't doing anything, they're used for trading only.

Definitely altcoins will survive as long as there is demand for them. I see a great future for altcoins and I will advice people to invest in them.

Since the most of the coin haven't good future plans, there is no survive, whether BTC Up or down. main reason to alts coins going down during the BTC UP and DOWN season, is traders are switch to BTC to reduce the Loss and gain profits. once the BTC price is settle good coins can get back to track except the shit coins. Will Altcoins survive as bitcoin is going higher and higher and the demand is getting increasing every day, what will happens to altcoins

Regarding the date of this topic, many ups and downs have happened, this proves the value and survival power of the altcoins. With the value of Bitcoin in high the most viable means of investment is in altcoins, where profits are obtained for a possible purchase of Bitcoin in its downfall period, a simple strategy and the most used.

if you look at the market caps. and weekly returns currently.. the question is will BTC/ETH survive during this altcoin boom?

Disgruntled ICO promoter. Looking to bring some professionalism to the industry if anyone is interested.

The number of altcoins in these days are really huge, already more than 800 and new ones coming every day . However, some of coins have no future. So, the most important thing is to do your own research and decide in which coin you will  believe while you use critical thinking and your overall knowledge about crypto.

Only those coins which deliver some features which are not found in bitcoin would survive. For example coins like monero, zcash are well known for their complete anonymous nature of transactions which is not found in bitcoin. Both the bitcoin and altcoin market would travel parallel as both are inter dependent on each other for their  progress. But most of the pumped shitcoins would disappear.

Why not? There are hundreds good altcoins with their projects in the world that help people solve difficult problems in the economy. As Bitcoin survives, altcoins will continue to exist too. I guess that there will be a lot of altcoins failing and becoming abandoned sooner or later because the startups behind them will fail, however I think that there will also be a good number of alts that are here to stay. There are many new projects that are really seeking to solve real world problems. Im excited to see how this whole space enfolds.

Altcoins are not merely dependent on bitcoin. When bitcoin rises it doesnt mean altcoin will dump its value. Every altcoin has different kind of people who has its interest. As long as an Alt has demand from.the market it will not disappear. Though altcoin may really seem to be a competitor of bitcoin, but the fact is that they cam work well alongside.

Altcoin has special purpose to serve which bitcoin cannot offer. Altcoin fills all the disadvantage bitcoin has. Demand for bitcoin is another thing from the demand of altcoin.

They will survive even if bitcoin will go up or go down they will be affected with the price fluctuation but their usefulness and development will make the investors stay on them. There is tough competition for the whole cryptocurrecies and we can see that each new coin has their own unique focus and feature, it is an altcoin and they can't be compared to bitcoin but why it's a question if they can survive? As long as there are working devs on it, for sure it will survive.

The altcoin will survive in many years even the bitcoin continuing high in value perhaps altcoins also, altcoins has their own characteristic to make their value higher like bitcoin in time.

I think the price of altcoin is not dependent on bitcoin because altcoin has its own community. Where now the bitcoin is so high, so I think a lot of people will prefer to altcoin and in 2018 it will be a lot of altcoin that survive we see ethereum, monero, eidoo, and universa.
