Hye, Just watch your vid, how much in total for having mining rig exactly like in your youtube? because seems cant find exactly that nvidia 1080TI you using http://amzn.to/2jwsQI2 ? different with your video ? https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-1080-AERO-11G/dp/B06XXGNZB3 is the GPU he is using in the video, but like any blower card the cooling is less effective than a good fan-based card like the Aorus or even the EVGA SC. ASUS makes a very similar model if you LIKE the blower cards, and IT tends to be in stock more regularly - and left off the DVI connector for MUCH better cooling airflow and somewhat better temps. Shouldn't be an issue when it's being run at 80% or less of TDP (200 watts on every 1080ti I am aware of is 80% TDP, but there might be a few out there that have a default TDP higher than 250 watts) but cooling on a 1080 ti tends to get painfull if you are pushing the card and it's NOT a good high-end cooler card like the Aorus (the MSI Duke mentioned as an alternate should also have very good cooling).

Shouldn't be an issue when it's being run at 80% or less of TDP (200 watts on every 1080ti I am aware of is 80% TDP, but there might be a few out there that have a default TDP higher than 250 watts) but cooling on a 1080 ti tends to get painfull if you are pushing the card and it's NOT a good high-end cooler card like the Aorus (the MSI Duke mentioned as an alternate should also have very good cooling).
For anyone interested, here are the 1080ti I have and optimal settings I use to achieve stated hash rate at 72+hrs stable; All cards are +100/+550 with fan min 40%. I do not have time to fine tune. Make_Model - W - Sols - Sols/W - Temp MSI Duke: 180 - 681 - 3.70 - 60°C (outside lane) ASUS STRIX: 190 - 674 - 3.56 - 67°C / 52°C (outside lane) EVGA SC: 175 - 685 - 3.93 - 65°C Inno 3D: 185 - 671 - 3.54 - 67°C EVGA SC Black is the best 1080ti I own and I have three of them. It was also the cheapest purchase, smallest footprint and 2 slot width.

The other one I have in a mining rig (82F ambient) is running 220 watts 745 sols at 50C (the fans at 80% are definitely overkill and I should turn them down a lot). (edit) That's at +100 core / +100 memory, higher memory settings gave REDUCED hashrate (I think the Aorus "overclocks" the memory by default), higher core was long-term crashy.

It was also the cheapest purchase, smallest footprint and 2 slot width. my MSI Aero cards are my favorite TI's especially because they had such a low price earlier this year (700 or less I bought some BNIB for 650) 150 core 500 mem 200 watts on DSTM stable 720 sols average 3.6 sols per watt Nice post though this is a really good argument for the evga SC, maybe I shouldnt have sold mine xD

Nice video as usually . But frame! for 400 bucks is too expensive. 110$ PSU + 6 risers of 5$ and 3 fans for even 10$. So just alluminium frame for more than 200$ ! The cost of materials is about 20-30$ maximum and the work to made it no more than 50$ Frames $100+ is pure price gouge. hey if you make a similar quality frame for less I'll buy it

I haven’t used the MSI duke the gigabyte tri fan works well for me better than a lot of the basic blowers If you want to also mine ETH for Nvidia the 1070 is a better choice than the 1080 ti

Couldn't agree more! And the cooling on my SC2's shit on MSI Armors, 3 fan gigabytes etc. I Freaking LOVE my SC2's. I have to do mixed rigs because of those 8+8 giants with my 1600w EVGA because of it. 2 8+8 cards with 4 8+6 cards. Hate those things.

Just another step to tick off on this whirlwind of a hobby

I have a question. In your video you use VGA (8PIN) in PSU, and then 8pin+6pin in the GPU. (1 cable pr. GPU). I'm having problems with a Zotac 1080 ti extreme. (6x GPU + 2x 1000W psu Corsair HX1000i) GPU powered like this:GPU --> (6+2pin + 8 pin) --> VGA (8PIN) in PSU (1 cable pr PSU). Riser powered:Riser --> 6 pin --> SATA-6PIN cable (from Corsair) --> PSU. (1 riser pr. sata First question:Will 1 cable to GPU be enough if you want to OC it? (1 8pin cable only provides 150W right?) Or should I use 2 separate 8 pins to power 1 GPU) Second question:Should I power Rises in another way? I read about fire hazards etc. Should I power risers like this? PSU --> VGA (8pin) --> 2x (6+2 pins) powering to risers. Or can I power like this?(2 pcs 8pin to dual 8pin pr GPU.) 1x 8 pin in PSU, and 1x 8pin in GPU (leaving 1 (6+2)pin un-used) 1x 8 pin in PSU, and 1x 8pin in GPU + the other 6 pin in riser).
