I am from Ireland and young people are starting to hear about it and become interested but only because of the stories of people making loads of money from it.

The older generation a don't understand it and see it as just a criminal thing, many even believing it is illegal to even own it.
This is because the only times they hear about it are when it is using on the darkweb for purchasing drugs.

Recently a prominent gang family in Dublin had two of their smugglers caught in Amsterdam trying to smuggle drugs back to Ireland and they had €7million euro worth of bitcoin on them. This only added to the negative view of bitcoin.

I find it is so hard to explain the concept to people.

They have already developed their own preconceptions and anything they tell you just doesn't sink in.

Bitcoin is now getting attention from many people in my country. It is now popular because of its expensive yet continuously increasing market price. I think its characteristic of being profitable is what making it interesting.
