You must be new to crypto  corrections like this happen every time. At least about every 3-4 months. The overall market cap went from 200bln to 300+ bln so fast it was just a matter of time that big whales would take advantage of the situation by creating a panic sell among the new investors which don't know drops like these. Just hold your coins and in a week you will see new hights.

Yes , it happened a lot of times.

When BTC reaches a certain level after the enormous growth is over and we see corrections, the alts turn to bloody red.
And it is pretty normal, their whole existence is tied to bitcoin, that's why the name "altcoin".
When bitcoin sneezes, better not be invested in superdupacoin or alladinpocahontascoin. Some of them never recover after a crash as poeple turn to megadupacoin and pigletmousecoin.

Besides, that pictures of yours contains two altcoin even worse than he normal ones.
Two useless forks like bcash and bdiamond which I do hope we won't see in the top 10 next year.

Thanks for replies guys.  It really shocked me when I saw all top 100 coins are red. Usually so far I have seen 50/60 coins red but at least some unknown coins are up.  But this time I am seeing all top 100 coins are down!

It happened a lot of times in many different reason, I remembered it also happened when China announced that they will ban all cryptocurreny exchanges from their country few months ago. But this time the reason is that investors decided to get their profit after dramatic increase of most of the coins in the market specially Bitcoin. Because if people did not sell, some altcoins will increase and the Bitcoin price will drop. Anyway this is expected to happen after Bitcoin reaches $10k, but nothing to worry because it creates an opportunity to buy discounted price of Bitcoin, and it will recover for sure.

The theory is also that people are taking profits at the top and selling Alt coins to fund the next buying phase when the price

take a dip. The dip usually trigger some bots to protect their traders investment, so it takes some time for things to correct

after this happens. When the human behind the bots take over, they buy in again on the dip. Buy low and sell high in motion.

one look back at the charts at least 2-3 yrs from now would really enlighten your mind. Because of all the recent price hikes happening to all of cryptos, corrections are really bound to happen. Prices will eventually get back to normal and rise even more. Then the cycle goes back again. So just relax and never stop collecting and holdong.

Everyone anxious about dips like this are prone to panic selling.  Events like this happens after a fast increase in prices called corrections. Try to hold on to your coins and buy more. A few days ago, most of the coins near the top were all up. We’re seeing a selloff because people are locking in the gains they made in this massive increase in all those altcoins and bitcoin. It is just a temporary drop before they all buy back in. But I bet some of the newbies are going to get chased off by this drop.

I've seen this so many times   take a look after few days or weeks then you'll be surprise with the next value of those coin. yes it did happen before. i think that you are new comer to cryptos as i am. but,  i have met this situation twice when all altcoins fall to the ground. its a good condition, therefore, to collect more coins in a lower price, unless, u have bought ones for a high price. there nothing weneed to but hodl til it recovers

This is just normal after Bitcoins price reached a new peak at shortest span of time. It is a domino effect which starts from bitcoin itself but there is no need to worry about it and most especially to panic. Huge surge with several corrections in middle will make pump stables and help to build enough buy support to keep prices high. Corrections are necessary for healthy price growth.

This is just completely normal, correction is healthy for crypto currency especially with this crazy price leaps a correction is expected. It is obvious that you are new if you haven't seen anything like this before. It happens once in a while. People want to sell what they have earned right after reaching the ATH (all time high). More and more people are exchanging their altcoins to Bitcoin in order to sell it and probably to buy it a few days later when the price decreases. A lot of altcoins are going down because people are starting to dump their alts for bitcoin. They are riding the wave because it's a good opportunity to earn money. However, to some people, it is an opportunity to go shopping for altcoins. Altcoins are good for short trading, when bitcoin price becomes steady again people would go back to altcoins and if you were able to buy them cheap, you can earn a lot of money after the bitcoin price hike.

I think this is the second time that it happened in 24 hours. Most probably there are people who is trying to pull the price of the coins down. But personally What I am seeing here is that the price of all the alt coins are now being based on Bitcoin.

Before when Bitcoin's price is going down other an altcoins are going green but after the Bitcoin crossed the $10,000 level altcoins are going with bitcoin's price. Does that mean that people are converting it to fiat directly and not to an alt coin?

its not a correction anymore if its huge rather that is what you called a crash and that is were experiencing right now especially on some tokens and altcoins but bitcoin right now is still recovering however it drops a little bit sometimes but overall there is still nothing to worry about it becuase that is still normal and part of the game. you are also right that most people will find it an advantage its because they can now have an oppurtunity to buy those coins that is currently on a dip phase.

almost all of us here dont really expected this to happen. before bitcoin is only decreasing but now all off them are just down even etherium and some other major token and altcoins are also following the path of bitcoin but im pretty sure this is just temporary and the main reason to this i can think  of is only manipulation of the market by whales or some powerful group of people in order for them to make a profit and buy those coins at a cheap rate.

isnt it ironoic ? first post has made on 30th November and in this thime btc price is $9.3k currently is around $9.7k but we know after that crash btc has reached $20k. it will go up again and again just be patient. In same table you see eth , ripple , dash and litecoin. lets look currently price for those 4 coin. eth : $1k ath: $1.4k ripple : $1.17 ath: $3.65 dash: $698 ath: $1.5k  and ltc : $166 ath : $365 .. as you see if you dont sell and HODL in the end you will be happy.
