I think it would be fantastic if there were more Chinese users of Bitcoin. First of all, the lessons learned by fending off attacks from the Chinese government would strengthen the Bitcoin network. Secondly, having Chinese merchants online would expand the Bitcoin economy and give us more things to buy with our Bitcoins. Thirdly, it's a step in the direction of freedom for the Chinese people. I'm going to start the ball rolling by offering a 50 BTC bounty for translating the official Bitcoin FAQ (http://www.bitcoin.org/faq) to Chinese. Please consider adding to this bounty or create one for another task.Edit: Since we already have a Chinese FAQ, this project will be for translation of the wiki ( https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/) Translation of Bitcoin wiki to Chinese (simplified):

Nice! Dumb question... is this simplified or traditional Chinese? I'm just starting to learn Mandarin Chinese (Simplified), and according to what I've read, mainland China prefers simplified characters, while Hong Kong and Taiwan use traditional characters. |

You could start a Chinese language edition for the bitcoin.it project.
Actually that is a great idea, I could give it as class work for my better students, and they can use it as a way to earn some BTC(what they would spend it on I cannot guess). |

The English wiki seems to have some sort contributor reward system. Presumably we can do the same for the Chinese wiki, though I have no idea how to prevent spam pages...

I've updated the project description. Anonygas, could you take a look at the wiki and give us a feel for what you think is a reasonable way to break down this project and what the budget should be? The wiki is obviously a moving target. Thanks. |

Sorry about that. Don't worry, these things happen all the time to all of us.  But I am just curious why don't the student open an individual account to do the wiki? Won't that be more convenient to everyone and a bit more secure (to you)? |

As far as security is concerned this person has my trust, and it's only the account to the wiki, nothing else. as for ease of use, maybe. He's only starting to get a little interest in bitcoin, I just thought it would be easier to use my account, I get the payment and give to him than to set up a new account and then come on the forum asking for payment. I'm known here he's not, and he's not likely to use the forums much anyway. |

I'd like to see a payment per page, make a list of all pages you want translated, then divide 150btc by this amount, we then have the amount per page. Payments per page are great for motivation. I think my student would be disappointed to find out he only gets any payment after doing everything and would give up :s , remember some pages, like the very technical ones he might not be capable of translating. |
