Ok, I see your concern here.  While it is certainly one of the most interesting altcoins to date (besides Namecoin of course ), I can understand that it is not a Bitcoin Project.  So I'll leave it to you to decide whether or not it is a candidate.  I have no real Bitcoin projects I want to nominate at the moment, though.
