The United States officially recognized Bitcoin. Soon the sale of BTC on Chicago Mercantile Exchange will start. The event is planned to December, 18. I wonder, how will it affect the price of BTC? Does it mean there will be another jump of this crypto?
Well it should, but in crypto is always hard to tell, since most people act by emotion so we have the typical "buy the rumors, sell the news" effect. So we could see a sell of bitcoin once things go live, but in theory this shouldn't happen. The CME is no directly related to the bitcoin price, since they are not actually buying and selling bitcoin, but it creates the chance for arbitrage, so the prices of both bitcoin and CME bitcoin futures index should be very close. Since institutional investors can easily invest tons of money using CME, that means that if the price goes up there, the price of bitcoin will follow.
Bitcoin futures also open the door for ETFs, and when this happens, then we will see even more drastic changes in BTC price.
So yes, we will probably see big jumps in the bitcoin price, and it's market cap will soon be competing with gold (we will need to reach $40k per bitcoin, but I think we will reach those values before 2020).
