Situation:
BPMC is a purchasing and mining pool cooperative, where its members aggregate demand for chips and boards so we can purchase chips and produce boards for our members at cost with little or no mark up to the members. Having completed an Avalon chip buy as well as holding other chips from other buys we are keen on making K1 Nanos available to the community.
Focus
There seems to be a small window of opportunity to provide K1s from August to the end of September given the market forces pushing on bitcoin currently. We feel that we can support BKKCoins by selling thousands of K1 units and providing his stipulated royalty on each sale of the K1s. Of course our members also wish to have a return on our investment so we will be pricing the K1 accordingly given the other products available. Note we will have a website posted in the coming week with prices.
Response
We will supply the community a small volume of K1 Nanos from August to September and assess from that point if more K1 Nanos would be required should there be sufficient demand or potentially a similar product with more efficient chips could be possible.
Evaluation
In providing this limited run of K1 Nanos we feel we can reach many people who may want to enter mining for the first time but also others who might want to buy a larger numbers of K1 Nanos for testing of alternative configurations for farms including oil submersion. From these sales our coop will be in better position to help develop and make available similar or 2nd generation products to the market place. We also endeavor to provide a more human and responsive business model forward so that our community is treated above all with respect that it deserves. As a cooperative we welcome other cooperatives to work with us to raise the business standards in this community.

I am interested in 5-10 K1's depending on price to replace my GPU's.
We are also looking at the possibility of USB hubs, Raspberry pi's, sd cards pre-flashed. Likely that will be later in September if all but we are working on that. Are you at all interested in bundles with a hub, raspi and the pre-flashed SD card? Or just the 5 - 10 K1's? Prices will be available in the coming week off the website.

Mostly this purchase would be to upgrade from my GPU's to Asics for the power savings as I have 60+ GH/s on order from two KnC group buys. Will you be able to get the price down into the $30 range?

In terms of prices that will be posted later on the site coming this week.
SD Card ya goes with the Pi.
Not going to keep the cards going for LTC or FTC?
We are bundling the USB hubs with everything so probably better you source that on your own but we will be sure to post any information we learn as we burn in K1s on these hubs so people can make an informed purchase. The USB hub is actually one of our cooperative development projects as a number of our members are pretty tired of trying to source working hubs. We hope to reverse engineer some good ones and then come up with something better for our coop members but also for the community.

What is your policy on chip trade-ins?
In other words, if I have my own Avalon chips, can I send them in and you can make K1s from them? I think I bought a few extra just in case some were bad.
Thanks.

K1s are single-chip, USB-powered Klondike boards.
Bicknellski, have you managed to source heatsinks for the K1s yet?

Definitely keen, depending on the final price. I would only be interested in the usb miners. The other parts can be easily sourced locally and should be easier for shipping, customs and warranty
Cheers

I be interested in 30 of them in the $33 price range ($1,000) but only if I can pay via Paypal or postal money order.
My limited BTC is slated for some more chips and the BTC market really isn't stable now.

Interested as well, but will depend heavily on chip delivery time from Avalon of course. Given difficulty increases I wouldn't be interested at much more than $30, especially with this BTC price slump.

K1s are single-chip, USB-powered Klondike boards.
Bicknellski, have you managed to source heatsinks for the K1s yet?
Yes we have found heat sinks that I believe fit the K1s. We going to get samples run first and do a 24H burn in to check the heat sinks but they seem widely available on aliexpress. We are also able to source them directly here in Indonesia I think from an aluminum foundry / extruder company about 20 minutes from my house. I am going to source heat sinks for both K16s and K1s there tomorrow or Wednesday. When we are sure about size etc I will post our links for these. Again like everyone else all we are doing now is waiting on BKKCoins. Also note the fasting month in Indonesia is 1 day away. This will only impact production at the end of the month when there is a 1 week set of holidays but we will see when the K1 gerbers are ready and if the factory in Batam has secured the BOM and are ready to produce. It will obviously first come first serve on the orders. We are personally invested in this production run and you will be kept informed and you can contact via email and I will be there to respond. (EDIT: we are sourcing heat sinks in bulk from China to meet the 32x24x10 specifications we want for our K1s)

My limited BTC is slated for some more chips and the BTC market really isn't stable now.
Again we will have pricing posted up on the site. In term of price we will be looking at the various other offerings and compare that to the K1. Given the potential of overclocking, also the fact we are selling K1s populated with chips not your chips the prices won't be comparable to the DIY builders like Marto at 22 Euros per K1. If we go that low might as well keep all the K1s and mine them in our cooperative pool. We are looking at providing these K1s in a small number between August and September so pricing may vary given the volatility of the BTC price. Two things we want to come from these sales. 1 give back to BKKCoins as quickly as possible some development royalties and 2 provide a healthy and fair return on the cooperatives risk in buying chips and going to fabrication. I doubt our prices can be as low as $33 price range at least for the August delivery who knows for certain what September delivery will bring given the wild ride in difficulty and BTC price. As a cooperative we want to be able to turn the K1s over and hopefully move to the next project quickly and put out another run of K1s or even something with Bitfury in the 1 Chip USB variety. We are carefully discussing this now and we are trying to fight our urges to overprice the K1s but also compare it against the potential mining returns we could have if we were to keep the K1s. Given that I hope our pricing is in that sweet spot. It is not a one person decision in our cooperative so everyone who bought chips is involved and we will have a consensus on this very soon.

We are looking at thousands of units shipping over a 30 to 45 day window from August to end of September. Pricing as I said above will not be in the $30 dollar range as that means we will probably keep the chips, make K1s, dunk them mineral oil overclock each one and bank as much BTC as we can before they become redundant or keep them on our cooperative mining farms should they be cost effective. As you we are concerned with the other products coming to market so we might have adjust prices over the lifetime of the sale given the spread out nature of delivery. We are also looking at securing more chips continually from others who are trying to profit on resales to boost production numbers but only if it makes sense in terms of ROI. Again as cooperative our members are going to be here to handle, burn in, bag and ship the K1s even though all of us have full-time jobs so given the expenditure of time and effort prices have to warrant that effort. We believe we can find a price point that is not too high that can satisfy the objectives we have. Get royalities in BKKCoins hands and reward our efforts as a cooperative so that we can build off these sales into a 2nd generation chip like the Bitfury.

Note we can work with a larger group buy and better price per unit for volume sales say over 1000 Units. Get together and buy in bulk in fact we prefer that sort of mass sales as it makes our job a bit easier and we even can provide direct shipments to your group members so you do not have to have one person hold 1000 K1s and redistribute although that shipping will cost more in the longer run. We are also trying to avoid the Ebay like auction nature of these sorts of units so those who are willing to craft an agreement with us we are more than happy to work with other cooperatives especially.
Make us an offer we can't refuse.
