Correct, there are a lot of altcoins already pump during that time span and all of us have already getting profits short term including myself. I also believed that 2018 will bring more cash to the altcoins markets because of the renewed interest of old and new investors. That's why it is still not late to get into the picture and make some profit by just doing shorting or short term hold.

It will not work, if you want to earn with the short term profit it will not be stable or long time you cannot make money in that trading method. In your list, XRP is the only one you have chosen right to trade it. Have choice the lots of the top rated coins or the altcoins which are popular in the market.
I understand you are using coinmarketcap so choose the top 20 coins which has the growth for the last 7 days. Those coins will works better give you the short profit. For long term, major currencies only will give the income.
