I don't know what options are out there now. But it would seem to me that having a secure offline savings account coupled with a hosted mobile bitcoin service (checking account) for payments would make sense. I mean I guess obviously if you're making payments you can't have everything in cold storage so some compromises on security must be made.

I won't say that all wallets are completely safe^
Safe are the ones that are Trustable and user friendly and secure.
I have always used a wallet in mobile nothing else thus Till now thankfully I have not faced an issue also the Trustable ones do take a lot of commission and everything else thats their only down point but then again..if ur buying something nice then you gotta lay for it right ?
I think in the future those offline mobile wallets will just include a strategy to somehow pay using them instantly ..there are mobile credit cards and everything now thus Its completely possible.

Mobile wallets and payment services will have their own way with security as they believe the phone will always be in the user's possession. Hence, it wouldn't have a 2FA or a similar system and instead rely on other security measures like a 4 digit pin (at least blockchain.info wallet)
While this isn't fully safe and can easily be cracked, it is the service provider's responsibility to set up enough security to protect a user's money in the case the phone is lost.

Yet again, nothing is ever completely safe. But the only thing which is going to leave you with the most control of your bitcoin on a mobile device is only going to be a few wallets, which include BreadWallet. This is due to the fact that they don't store everything and allow you to have complete control of your coins, which means owning your OWN private key.

Plus they allow you to use 2fa, so this does remove the ability of people to steal your coins -- unless they steal your phone but that's an issue with using bitcoin all together.

Currently I am using an online wallet and they have an application installed on my cellphone.  As of the moment I have never encountered any untoward incident about it.  It is safe since there is a 2FA.  And the security of our bitcoins stored on this wallet is in our hands.  We should be careful on signing in and logging in on website that we do not know.  We should not give information on some investment site that might steal our bitcoins.

Yeah,blockchain offering encrypted mobile wallet so it is safe to use for bitcoins upto 1BTC,and it is providing mobile confirmation so no one can authorize your transaction from other mobile or computer.but coinbase wallet is not safe it can be hacked easily so don't store bitcoins on coinbase mobile wallet.
Maybe in future more wallets for bitcoin will be created but now blockchain is safest in my point of view.

I'm using a mobile wallet app to cash out or to convert into our local fiat which is more convenient for that feature, however, I'm not using it to store a large number of bitcoins to the android phone as it is always connected to the internet plus malware, adware and viruses are
attached to some of the applications installed on the phone so the chance of getting your coins lost is high, my btc is in the safe haven of an offline cold storage device. so for me, it is not good to store your bitcoin on a mobile phone for a long time.

The safest way to store bitcoin on a computer. But if you still want to use mobile phone to be able to perform various transactions easily and quickly then I suggest to use service that has 2fa, because with these features then you can get a much better security than services that do not have 2fa features.

Phone is as safe as your behavior is. There is an inherent problem with the fact that there might be some kind of flaw or backdoor access so bare this in mind. Best way is to keep most of your coins offline and only have on phone what you actually use. This way you should be safe even if something happens, damage is minimized.

Firstly, Bitcoin can't compete with credit cards because there is no credit facility with . It doesn't lend itself to competing with debit cards either. Will it have to compete with payment processors? I don't believe it will - payment processors can eist as service providers in the Bitcoin world. So what about mobile payments? Do you really want to trust a globalist organisation like Apple with your money, or a Rothschild owned bank for tht matter? The whole point of Bitcoin is to escape from their clutches.

I believe that the only safe wallet is a node based wallet, anything else is just another banking operation, with all the caveats associated with bank deposits. At the moment it isn't possible to run a node on a mobile, but no doubt it will be possible in the not too distant future. One thing you could try is to tether a mobile to a netbook to run a node. You could synchronise the netbook over WiFi to keep your data transfer costs to a minimum.

I think electrum is connected to blockchain only. So if you still have your private keys it will be easy to open them back and yes they have a mobile application and I am using one now.

Android phones are safe also because they are being infected with viruses, only the SD card can be infected and that is a good sign to avoid hacks.
So I say it is safer.

I already got a mobile application for bitcoin. However when we try to encash it. Some other user complain that there account has been hacked someone is try to claim there payout. So, I think a mobile bitcoin application or not it is still depend on how you handle your accounts and how you make it more safe.

I'm not sure if they are completely safe. Let's not forget that if bitcoin is going to be used by the masses, then it really needs to be secure, because people tend to make a bad use of their computer and mobile phone, and end up having problems with security, that will eventually lead to a hack. It's almost impossible to prevent that from happening, so I think that we will need some sort of dedicated and secure "payment instrument" so people can use bitcoin and other crypto. I think we will probably see a device that is similar to a phone, and has internet access etc, but it will only be used for crypto payments.

I agree, as an experience with different wallet, I am currently using an online wallet too. It is easier to use it to convert btc to fiat here in our country. But really it is actually having high fees. Like for every Fifty dollars cashed out in our fiat has fees of 2-3 dollars. And dollars have high equivalent in our country.
It's the same as banks just more handy in y opinion.

Well, if security is the questions, they are safe. Especially with private keys. The walet I use sometimes have bugs but still good wallet.

Whatever you choose, make sure you write down the backup phrase, otherwise your coins will be lost if you lose your phone.
