According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yes terrahash uses the Klondike design (but they are developing it separately from bkkcoins? Not so sure how this works.)

There has been nothing to prove TH has a hashing unit.  Read their thread, and look at pic of the unit.

well, most people would read more than simply the op if they wanted an informed opinion. Anyone can post a new thread saying they have a fully working board Wink

He has shown pics of the XX board hashing & seeing as the X board will just be a half-filled XX board with the same pcb, just half the chips, I think it makes better sense to call it 20. It's up to Bitoy though, its his thread..

Corrected. Terrahash has not shown proof.

Correct link to message with Krater Mining video: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=189976.msg2679431#msg2679431

Please note: we are ready to build systems, even if the Avalon chips arrive TODAY. That makes us ahead of most everybody else.

Terrahash is using BKKCoins design and is waiting for him to finish. Terrahash is not going to have anything to add to the race so you can remove him or add everyone else like our group Big Picture Mining Cooperative who is doing a K1 and K16 build as soon as BKKCoins is finished prototyping.

BKKCoins has 4 chips hashing at 1.2 Gh/s... he is adding more chips today.

Based on what these chips are capable of, it's also interesting to see what each design can hit with proper air (or water..) cooling.

Cooling may very well NOT be the limiting factor for overclocking, but it seems that 450Mhz (1.5x OC) should be possible

Also the design files themselves

Klondike / Bkkcoins  - Open source, released on github

Burnin - Will be open sourced when they start shipping or go up for sale(?)

Krater -??

Yes added them a few days ago.

They have a 10 chip board similar to burnin but I don't know if they are the same.

One of Russian mining projects - Icarus 2.0 (Avalon chips based) board.
We have working prototype, but we still have issues with HW errors (~3% @300MHz, WU over 80 shares/min).
The board size is 100x160mm (Eurocard).
