This is a very good list. For new investments And this information can be found easily on the web. You can only create a structure for it. I can add something about marketing. Avoid the process, which makes pre-ico. How to buy pre-ico for 2 reasons: sell LOTS of tokens to invest or raise funds for a massive marketing campaign. Both options are not very good for private investors, especially the main ones. Because of these findings I will take the token price within minutes after going to the stock exchange.

there are so many such scammy project in bitcointalk. some just disappear from the radar after a while. maybe there should be some sort of warning about such projects in bitcointalk.
yes, I agree with you, in this forum many scam projects that can harm all parties. I think one way to reduce or eliminate a scam project is to filter for each project to be promoted in the forum. anda i think its a good solution.

Very large for the size number of tokens- why have 100's or 1000's of millions of tokens?
I think the number of released tokens plays a far from significant role in deciding whether to skam it or not. so I think we should look at the team in the first ochedyed. Then is there a product and social profiles of the founders.

Spotting a scam project is an impossible thing right now, 90% projects don't show up their real team development and the owner behind . All projects are similar like the others and their solution don't help much for real-life problems.
A project scam often has individuals who have scammed and if learn carefully can you realising it. These projects often do not have clear roadmap roadmap and they often copy from other projects. The technical platform of the project scam often wrong and if you have the knowledge about the technology that projects often fails. There is a number of ways that I use to learn about the project scam in this time.

And they will tell you everything that is really good and seems impossible but possible for them.  They will give you freebies and a lot of coins.  And likewise promises you to have a very high interest when you invested on them.  Also as you said there is no clear roadmap of their project.

You are given all details of being scam, i strongly agreed with you statement of being scammed.
All signs you have given are all informative to people here in forum and now we must aware of being scam.
Yes, investing in ICO's project now is very risky first we need to check first everything as what they have the roa-map and whitepaper these are the primary to check and determined which project are good to invest. To avoid scam it is your responsibility to spend time in researching the project.

Thanks mate for your wonderful statement i have learned a lot this. Grin Grin

it is quite difficult to guess an ICO about its authenticity as they usually tend to be very promising in offering a project to be developed so of course we have to be very careful in making an investment on a project being developed by ICO. my advice is before you make an investment that you will do on a project you should first do a detailed study of the project being developed. suppose you have to find out about the team developing the project. also many other research studies that you should do.

We can without much of a stretch check whether the task is a trick if its pipe dream, read deliberately every little thing about it before you contribute. This is the hazard we are discussing on this sort of market uniquely whenever you trying to connecting with any ICO's. Be that as it may, on the off chance that you truly accept on the particular task go contribute on it. Continuously feel that if its high hazard it can gives higher benefit obviously contribute just what you can stand to free.

All your points are definitely valid.

I would add an additional one, the one raised by Cialdini in his book on manipulation. He stated something like this (I don't have the exact quote available): you know, it is really hard to tell if someone is taking advantage of you or not. But there is something common in all the situations like this. It is a gut feeling that you are manipulated to do something you don't want to and you can feel it as a tightness in your gut.

You do realize that no matter how much of a strong gut feeling you get a lot of people get blinded by green pretty damn easily and fall for obvious shit

Its really hard to differentiate what is scam and what is not, some of them are good, too good to be true, some have a nice website but still end up to be a scam at the end, almost all are just redundancy project.
Not at all, a boatload of obvious scams are scams which baited 1000s of people. Like BCC was glaringly obvious but people shilled and still do

You marerecpgnize something if it's a scamm if they offer more than you can to check every payout so it's necessary to be careful for scam prevention.

It all comes down to research.

I don't think all projects will cheat, but when the participants and potential buyers in BBS are not enthusiastic, many of them will choose to disappear.

the only one that we could recognize scam or not is by getting paid in the time to get the payment. and if we don't get the payment and the other people is not get the payment too, then the project is a scam because they are run away with the money. I have seen this before in the past but we cannot know if it is a scam or not before the end of the campaign.

We can easily see if the project is a scam if its too good to be true, read carefully everything about it before you invest. This is the risk we are talking about on this kind of market specially when you are joining ICO’s. But if you really believe on the specific project go invest on it. Always think that if its high risk it can gives higher profit but of course invest only what you can afford to loose.
I agree like look at BCC and its 1% per day interest rates, yeah I do get it’s crypto but like in the real world you’d be lucky to get over 10% interest a month

One of the biggest signs of a scam is that if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. The whole point of a ico is to make money if the project has alot of promise it could all well be a good idea. If the founders won't talk answer questions then that has to raise doubts.

Piggy enough snake swallow like. Just do not be too greedy, I believe the sky will not fall for no reason pies, there is no free lunch in the world, then you will not be easily deceived.

To recognize a scam when the return of profit is huge. No foundation of proof to be presented into the participants. Yes there is no free in this world so we have to be in wise mode before joining in.

To avoid a scam in the projects you need to study white paper

I don't agree with with you completely. The whitepaper can be one of the elements that can help you to recognize scammers, but not the only one. In my opinion, Team member feedback is the most important Element to recognize an ICO genuinely. Team members with a decent background and past work experience in the field of crypto gave us the confidence to invest in ICO. Even project progression also encourage investors to invest in ICO's.

I think, if a transaction/investment is to GOOD to be TRUE, put your doubt on it. It may be a scam.

If I am alone, see the project is a scam or not, see who the project manager I will follow
whether he has a bad reputation or not, if he has a bad reputation then I will look for another project
which is handled by a reputable manager
that is it

Most importantly, pay attention to the team, if the scam then there may be fake names, use the search to search for all the photos of the team. In my practice, there are already two projects that used fake photographs. Also, you should pay attention to the product can already have analogs that are already successful, the swindlers just make a duplicate of a successful project! It would be nice if there is already a working version of the product, also if you have already raised funds before the start of ISO of some kind of investors. Carefully check any information in all sources!
