Amsterdam was slightly slower for me with my free $5 credit. Wink Didn't find anything. I did get a few memorycoin blocks though, after I got bored with no XPMs.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hi,

I am new I have the daemon up and running

{
    "blocks" : 135645,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : true,
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "primespersec" : 1576,
    "chainsperday" : 0.16899828,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false
}

But I see no coins so probably i need to connect it to a pool

Any tip, tutorial, how-to on how can I connect to a pool using Linux (ubuntu or other)

Regards

TMC

First up it looks like you are using an old miner.  read this thread and get the latest version HP10... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255782.0

To be honest with a single VPS you could be waiting weeks for a single block now, so you're better off looking at the only pool, ypool.  Just search for ypool in the forum.

This output means you are mining. Depending on the size of the droplet you made it could take a while to find a block.

So is DigitalOcean still banning primecoin miners?  Seems most of the VPS are primecoin hostile claiming it is against their TOS.

It seems a few have been caught in the cross-fire, but so far they have been open to mining on their systems.

I've been mining src and qrk with them and didn't have any problems so far.
Might shut the instances down soon though.

It's a good idea if it's free Smiley  With a single machine I would be using ypool or beeeer.org (if that's working now?).  IMO I would go with whichever works out cheaper.  If they are the same then go with the 1x8 core.

Hi Paul, you think DO is still profitable for something? I like that they are cool with mining nowadays and their site is great but I find the performance a bit disappointing.

I wouldn't have thought so if you are paying.  TBH I haven't tried them since the early days and we all had the free voucher.

I haven't updated this in a while. Have PrimeCoin pools started showing up, or is this still the best way to mine?

We have a few more pools, I prefer www.beeeeer.org personally.

So I have asked on other forums but wanted to see if you guys see something else.  Is this still worth doing?  It doesn't seem like you can break even based on the cost.  Is it better to just buy primecoins with the money I would have put into the droplets?
