The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Always put a date in a signed message. Else, I can just copy/paste the message and signature, and reuse it in 6 months. EDIT : Hi can i get a 1 BTC loan please? Pay back Friday when I get my 10 BTC from Coinbase. This is my BTC address. 1G8jPwsohfoQLSwWvvDzR3j1wmwpgiUHYX

[OVER] RIDDLES 2nd edition --- this was claimed. Look out for 3rd edition! I won't ever ask for a loan nor offer any escrow service. If I do, please consider my account as hacked.

I'm still trying for a 1 BTC loan, 7.5% sounds fair. Repayment would be this Thursday, or even better next Thursday if that's acceptable.
BTC address is in my signature.

After one (1) month of nonpayment, the loan will be considered "defaulted on". I couldn't imagine anyone being more than a day late on this... or else they will definitely default on it. Because of your low member ranking, I will need some form of collateral. Maybe 10-20% down payment (just in case).

You should probably send some of it to repay your current outstanding loan first: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238412.0
