Unfortunately their mainly AMD gpus. From nvidia you have the 1080TI, which is currently pricey and the 750TI where the hashrate is extrem low.

Searching with google, you found mostly entries for "best gpus for mining ethereum".

Which gpus can you recommend with a good hashrate and not too mainstream? The card should be available.

gtx 1060 can be the best break even gpu
it can do 24 mhs hashrate and the best buy can be as low as $259
gtx 1070ti can be the best for density
it can do 36 mhs hashrate and the best buy can be as low as $479

I personally Invested in 1080 tis but that was before the 1070 ti s
But even now I will prefer the 1080 tis
Even though the 1070 tis will ROI faster and will give u better effeciency
But the Most important thing for me is space
and 1080 ti is more the 1.5-1.7 times faster then a 1070 in many algo

I am mining with 1060 GTX 6GB and 1070 GTX.  I haven't had any problems for the most part.  Killerelite makes a good point about space requirements.  If space is at a premium then higher hashrate cards should be looked at.  I like the cost efficiency of the 1060 and 1070 which is why I went with those cards.

Hey Agozyen,

I just ordered two 1060 GTX 6GB for my older i7 with a 750w power supply.

I based a lot of the decision on power usage in comparison to the RX 580.

Have you monitored the difference in power usage between the 1060 and the 1070.

Where do you get reasonably priced second hand cards? Mostly the are more expensive than new cards.

I think the best solution is Geforce 1060 6GB, the price is the best, the price is the best, the visibility is just over a year, the video cards are inexpensive, the price has fallen, you can find $ 280.

My vote goes to either the GTX 1060 or the 1070ti.

The 1060 because its a cheap and decent miner which will bring ROI the fastest. Aside from this, a big plus is resaleability due to the fact that it is a bang-for-buck GPU that is enough to satisfy most needs of gamers. This makes the 1060 a great exit strategy as well.

On the other hand, the 1070ti would be a nice nvidia card as well because it has the best power efficiency and better in terms of density than the 1060.

Overall, you should also consider AMD cards if you find them available since they currently are more profitable.

Given the very low availability and gouge pricing on the Vega right now, my "go to" cards are the 1070 ti then the 1080 ti
I WOULD buy a few more Vega cards *IF* I could find them at a reasonable price, but given the current "50% OR MORE over MSRP" gouge pricing when you can find a Vega card in stock at ALL, it's not worth it.

I prefer the EVGA SC models of both of those, though the Gigabyte Aorus 1080 ti is a monster of a card (but the dual 8-pin power connectors make it a pain for multi-card rigs).

IF you run a 1080 ti at "efficient" settings under about 200 watts TDP, they all seem to run the same hashrate and efficiency give-or-take with the differences being smaller than "measurement tolarance" - it's above that point as the cooling systems start limiting boost clock that the DIFFERENCES start showing up.

MSI Armor models work OK, and the dual ball bearing fans are a Good Thing, but I'm not real impressed with the cooling on the one I have (a 1070 model) as it's a hair WORSE than my EVGA SC 1070 cards despite the card being a fair bit taller and about the same length.


 In ZEC mining, the 1070 ti is MORE efficient and better on hash/$ than the 1080 ti - but it's CLOSE at the "system cost and power" level, and the rig density of the 1080 ti is going to be a good bit better for most folks.

 This should also apply more-or-less equally well on other Nvidia-prefered algorithms like LyraR2v2 but the details MIGHT vary given the effect of GDDR 5x latency on some algorithms.
