The latest Bitcoin fork, "Bitcoin God", will be promoted and mined by chinese mining mogul Chandler Guo: https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/bitcoin-god-ico-god-token/We have yet another bitcoin hard fork to announce. It’s called Bitcoin God, or GOD.
The hard fork project is being led by Chinese bitcoin and blockchain angel investor Chandler Guo, who released a message on WeChat stating his intention to fork off from core on December 25.
In a follow-up tweet, Guo explained that he chose December 25 because it was “symbolic of me giving candy to all bitcoin holders.”
Responding to an inquiry on Twitter, Guo confirmed that the project is “real”. Guo explains that GOD will be forked off the main bitcoin chain at block 501,225, which is scheduled to occur on December 25. There’s a total supply of 21 million GOD coins, and there will be no pre-mine.
What’s the difference between Bitcoin God and regular bitcoin? Why do we need yet another hard fork? Guo claims that “the profit from POS mining will be distributed to all Bitcoin God users.”
Guo has not gone into further detail about how that profit sharing scheme will work. However, bitcoin hard forks are quickly becoming the new ICOs. Super Bitcoin, Bitcoin Platinum, Bitcoin Diamond, and Bitcoin Cash Plus are all being released over the next few weeks. Some of these projects have legitimate support from a team of developers. Others are scam projects with no apparent purpose.
Ultimately, there’s virtually no information about Bitcoin God available online at this time – but we’re still a few weeks away from launch. Stay tuned to see if Bitcoin God (GOD) is a real cryptocurrency project or not. Is anyone bothering to get all these coins? How are you doing it? it is honestly incredibly annoying having to move your cold storage each time a new fork happens. I think im going to wait for all the forks to happen, then move my cold storage just once and access them all. The problem is, by then, most would have crashed...

Ugh facepalm all these forks make me want to cringe and laugh at the same time. I don't even know what happened to Bitcoin Diamond and that was a few weeks ago and for the next 1-2 months there seems like there will be a fork every week. What a forking mess (for those of you who watch the good place )

I had not heard of this one, yet ... and I agree, the name is horrible. It’s almost like they are trying to get name recognition with Bitcoin Gold .. Gold/God. I too am waiting until there are a few descent forks to claim before moving my BTC. Fees are too high to keep moving it.

yeah i am getting all of them. I just have all my bitcoin sitting an on exchange and they have been crediting me each time a fork comes. i know people don't like leaving coins on exchanges but i have mine split between 3 exchanges so even if they get hacked or steal my funds in one it is highly unlikely to lose all three! Just get good exchanges that actually credit you for your coins like binance, kucoin and bittrex. But for the paranoid security conscious people this system won't be of much help i guess.

With so many hardforks will be coming in next few weeks later. And then i can't get the purpose of these hardforks. It likes the bitcoin will be the same as the money printing. This bitcoin god will be the same as another altcoin just like NEO because with its POS system. The only winner will be those having a lot of the bitcoin in their wallet.

I've been asking around, trying to get more information about them. All the projects are fairly obscure. I'm intrigued by GOD because of its affiliation with Chandler Guo, who is considerably more well-known than Jack Liao (Bitcoin Gold's main backer). Terrible name for a coin, though. Personally, I'm happy to claim the coins if there is hype/value. But only if there is an apparently safe wallet, after I've moved the BTC to safe new addresses, and on a junk PC with no access to any crypto. The first condition (safe wallet) seems to be a pretty high bar for some of these forks. Indeed, hopefully we can dump them before they crash entirely....

I agree. Respect before everything else. I third this. Will not support anything related to this coin. What was the development team / CEO thinking? I don't pretend to be a devout Catholic but when blasphemous things like this come up its a big red flag for me. It's not even funny nor is it witty or in any way appealing to the market.

With so many forks done by some greedy people of the crypto world, it seems like they will be the ones responsible for the fall of Bitcoin; rather than any government. And seriously what a stupid name to have for a fork.
Between I don't have Bitcoins (just some satoshis on freebitco!), so there is no chance of me getting any forked coins!
On another note, I think we all are also responsible directly or indirectly for these suicidal forks, as we pump and dump these coins.

Actually what you are trying to say here bro. I didn't get it. If there any hard fork in the normally people goes to convert it as a multiple altcoins. That is howcmy friends usecto split the bitcoin to multiple alts. Even you will find the increase of block size so you will find transaction we are doing will be confirmed faster because of that effect. Last recent hard fork waschappen along with the segwit activation but most recently it was fail.

Before when there are forks, those few early ones I'm very excited to have those free coins.
But I don't know why I'm having this type of feeling that this is crazy, making forks as if they want to make something reliable and the name is totally absurd.
I know people who are religious here will be offended and there is even one coin before that has also a terrible name, I'm talking about jesus coin.
Are they really serious of contributing to crypto world?

I am waiting for several forks, before I will move my wallet anywhere. How to gain those new coins: Transfer first all your funds to another wallet. Bitcoin itself is not needed to gain the new fork coins. Only the wallet's history. Then import your wallet into a wallet, that supports the split ( I used coinomi for BCH and Bitcoin Gold). BTW: Also in december seems to be a split of Bitcoin Silver. And BCH seems also to have new forks. But I dumped them already.

The next one will be Bitcoin GUO)) Seems just like they wanted to make more money using the name of the Bitcoin. So this dependency from the mining pools wanted from time to time make more money therefore make different hardforks is still the main problem for the bitcoin community.

If you think you can't be bothered, then don't. That's kind of what we're all hoping for actually. That all these forks will be considered useless and a nuisance, so that in the end these moguls and whales with thousands of Bitcoins will stop seeing forkcoins as an instant money making machine.
Imagine, even if these fork coins end up worth less than 1 % of Bitcoin's price, that's still more than $150 of free money for every Bitcoin they own. It's pretty disgusting, really, and makes all those people who hate cryptocurrency say "told you so". We need to stop supporting these useless forkcoins.
