$200 is easy to hit

The uptrend seems too slow down currently Smiley
You're right, actually it didn't even reach 150$ today.

Bitcoin will probably drop in price first a little bit and then slowly rise close to $200. Within a year, Bitcoin probably will top off around $200 if not higher.

I believe that BTC is and will continue to be affected more by outside influences than anything the community does or says.

That being said, there are some upcoming events that are going to affect all currencies.

Spain is having significant issues financially, as well as some other European countries.

The US Dollar is going to be affected significantly by the upcoming debate over the current debt limit. How that plays out will drastically affect the price of BTC.

Obviously this thread is comparing BTC to US Dollar, so as the dollar weakens BTC will continue to strengthen.

The other factor that will affect BTC is simply the additional attention its getting in mainstream news, the more people know about it, the more people will be interested in investing in BTC. Which will drive up the value.

So I believe it will exceed $200 in value in October due to the US debate over the debt limit increase. It may fall back a little after that though. But that's my opinion.

It will definitely hit $200... But who knows, Unstable is what makes this game enjoyable.  It will drop and grow.

It may do, but I beleive it will crash, then go steady back at ~125.

Looking at the long term, I think $200 is still really cheap. My money is on bitcoin hitting $1,000 within the next two years.

I expect it to go up; $200 is certainly not out of the realm atm ... and it could happen soon, but until bitcoin gains some currency and usage the price will always be fragile.

I see that there needs to be exchanges in Somalia, Zimbabwe, Argentina, heck, anywhere where the local gangsters are not up to the task of managing a reserve bank respopnsibly. In fact, why have the hassle of running a reserve bank at all ? one must ask, and throwing your countries lot in with a bunch of thieves.

For this to happen there needs to be robust front ends that the consumer can trust, as hassle free as eftpos is used, with chip cards, nfc, whatever, not my forte here ...

That way the bitcoin price will have true stuffing and will not just flutter around at the behest of speculators.
