Surely you don't think it took 4 days because that's when he decided to upload to github?

good point,
although i would be more interested in the project if it had a REAL commit history.

couldn't he just push to github once it's done?

another point -
the code is very concise - this is a good thing, not a bad one .
but it makes me wonder - so little code for a functional coin ?

The project was launched on November 15. This does not include the transport layer - it is a well-tested program for 2 years. So little code - yes, everything is simplified as much as possible. Of course, it will not work if there are many hosts or a lot of transactions, but this is due to imperfect transport layer. The history of the initial commits is there, but it is integrated into my private home repository. I can publish the output of git log from which the contact information was deleted.

thanks for answering.

yes, i guess it could be useful to show your private git log but not necessary if you are afraid of disclosing private info .

regardless, looks like an interesting project.

what is your background in crypto and programming in general, if i may ask ?

Is the main thread already running?

Test net is running. There are 11 hosts in it. Thank you! Does anyone want to get 1,000,000 testnet coins (they are not real coins)? Publish the address please.

I probably will not refuse

You don't think your code will scale well to a lot of transactions and nodes/hosts?  What will you do if this coin becomes popular?

Also, I agree you should change the name, you can't have a coin with the word "Cheat", it will not appeal to english-speaking audiences.

It seems like you have good talent in developing this, wish you luck.

I think asic-friendly algo is good for this coin... so that if the tulip mania repeats itself to bitcoin as they say... cheatcoin will be one of the options of these expensive asic miners to choose from...

At the moment I, Daniel Cheatoshin, are the only developer. My personality is hidden. Other voluntary developers are welcome. I'll try to make a website, at least temporarily, where one could download the programs and where the description of the protocol will be laid out. As for marketing, until the project is a non-profit, ICO is not planned, so it's too early to talk about marketing.

As for the technical plan for the near future, it is
1. Check the functionality of the existing full node on the test network. Here I need the help of volunteers. I have only 6 of my full nodes, but I would like a few dozen.
2. Make a full node for Windows in command line mode
3. Make a temporary site on a free hosting server. Lay out there a description of the protocol and the program for download.
4. Make a simple Qt-based front-end for Linux, Windows, Android.

For the near future, mining is planned on CPU only. Developers for GPU miner are welcome.

Good to know the Dev info. Thanks

I will watch this project.

PE7VSd7VyFFWG5vyqYCutkRY1Jwb5iog can someone send me some testcoins?

This address is not in the network. Only valid blocks are addresses.
Could you please provide some debug information?
Do you have windows or linux node?
Need output of the following commands:
stats
net hosts
net conn
account 10000 (only the line is needed where the address PE7VSd7VyFFWG5vyqYCutkRY1Jwb5iog is and may be some other lines with valid addresses)
and tail of the cheatcoin.log (100 lines)
Win 7 x64 node, GMT time

Thanks! This is simple error. You are not connected to the network. There is one known host - it's you. And 0 hosts with public ip addresses are known. Exit the program, and then run it in the same folder where is was unpacked. Or copy files netdb.txt and netdb-testnet.txt to the working folder of the program.

UPD. Run Windows terminal, go to the folder where program is unpacked and run it from the terminal with flag -t. This flag is needed for testnet. Main net is not running now.

Im connected! Thank you!
