In my opinion, with the advent of Bitcoin, more altcoins get known too. This opens a lot of opportunities for new or already existing players to attack Bitcoin flaws (already happening) as huge fees or long transaction times.

Do you think that any of these altcoins can take Bitcoin place someday? Being the first does not necessarily means being the Top1, this happens all the time, especially in the digital industry. E.g: Naspter/Spotify, iPhone/Android, etc.

Whatever coin comes to the market. All the coins next to bitcoin only and they will consider as altcoin only. Not saying that as a main coin. So you have to understand that bitcoin will be always a master in the crypto market.
Early miners holder the bitcoin strongly and there the people managing the bitcoin economy at all. We will not find any failure at anytime because they will not let that happen at anymore.
If anyone launches the new coin first their coon circulation should increase and value should go higher with the demand. We cannot expect that on other coins for sure.

 I don't think bitcoin can be replaced. It is impossible to copy or recreate the features that makes bitcoin valuable. Bitcoin have grown organically. There is no single point of failure, nor any participants with to much power. The best developers are devoted to bitcoin, and it is the most secure network in the world.

As you have already mentioned one of the biggest flaws bitcoin has is the high fees and long transaction times which are often very inconveniencing to the user and it is for this reason other coins will be considered to take up bitcoins position if no fix is found and honestly nothing lasts forever which is calling a spade a spade especially when it comes to technology, these takeovers always happen ,hope a fix comes soon to give bitcoin a long life.

Why not? If it will appear good coin that can change the cryptocurrency and fiat currency then it can quite replace bitcoin in the future. This is very simple when the world is always change, is always developmental.

Not before mass global adoption I suppose. First world must truly understand what altcoins are (among other terms like blockchain, crypto, PoS/PoW...), then market will decide sooner/later.

Then maybe, just maybe, we could bury that obsolete, slow, highly fee'd, dinosaur of unknown creator.

Bitcoin is the main buzzword now, gets most media attention, is leader of crypto payment acceptation (adoption). Many people who heard of BTC and potentially invest in/use it either don't know what altcoins are or know vaguely and name one or two alts, if any. Until that changes no chance to replace BTC IMO

There is possibility that many coins will appear to be more attractive than bitcoin in the next next years. We all know that 5 years ago bitcoin is not yet known in the market. Due to publicity or other ways it was spread in the market, bitcoin become very strong. Maybe this time is Bitcoins' time to bloom.

Bitcoin maybe great, but with time it won't be as it is now. I do believe a coin that surpass bitcoin will be created. Yes, bitcoin is forever the first but sadly not the last. The biggest annoying flaw Bitcoin has is the extreme growing high price, and with this flaw, Altcoins will find unique ways to solve it and bring forth incredible bitcoin like coins with less growing speed and high profits.

There are already lots of alt-coins gunning for bitcoin show boating that they have faster transaction/confirmation time, lower fees or completely anonymous, but none of them beaten bitcoin yet.

I believe that there will be an alt that will take the place of bitcoin. We need a better crypto that can process millions of micro transactions with virtually less fees. But more than that, it should have the trust of the community, because without it, it will never overcome bitcoin.

No that is not going to happen, Bitcoin is the king of crypto currencies and will be so for ever, many altcoins will grow well but won't be anywhere near bitcoin.

I could see it happen that another coin takes over, but for now and the foreseeable future it's going to be bitcoin

It's not impossible to happen that, since alt coins are gradually recognizing now.  Surely it has the chance to replace Bitcoin in the future. Knowing whether the alt coins that are stable today are Bitcoin Cash, Btc Gold, and ethereum. If investors invest in those alt coins, then it will make history in the world of cryptocurrency, like today's bitcoin.

Everything is possible since nothing on this world cant really be replaced by other.If people would really feel that they should choose up another coin because of Bitcoins flaws then they might really jump into alts which would patch up the things that bitcoin doesn't have.Yes,there are possible altcoins that would took its place but not on these days.Bitcoin community is too big and wont easily be discourage on what are the things we are seeing now on bitcoin.No matter how high the fees and longer the transactions people would still remain.

I can't rely say, but I feel there will be another coin that will likely give Bitcoin fight for its number position, so expect this to start from next year, BTC will still be a dominant force but people want more
