Hi all, Im having trouble logging in to mybitcoin.com this afternoon. I am 100% sure im using the correct login name and password, I had a complex password, and this has happened to me before but previously it was because of the mtgox problem and I had an email from mybitcoin saying that they had changed my password for me. I now cannot contact them as I cant login to use their messaging system....is anyone else having login trouble? Last night worked perfectly...

Yea I dunno I always had to try logging in twice with my credentials even before the Gox hack but since then reading all the accounts of problems people have had being unable to get to their money, unable to login (even after creating a new account), and being unable to contact the site, I've decided I'm gonna give them a wide berth from now on.

What would a better solution be? just storing a wallet file on a home computer? I do have an account with bitmarket.eu, could possibly keep my coins there, but I think they charge more for transactions.

For small amounts you could use instawallet.org and for larger amounts just store them at the exchange

My Bitcoins are stored at MyBitcoin.com and I plan to move them as soon as I can regain access to my account and store them on my own computer.  Storing them on your computer sounds risky but it doesn't have to be.

1: Create a free Dropbox account
2: Create a TrueCrypt container and store your wallet.dat in it.
3) Have that container syn'd with Dropbox.

That way, if you ever have a catastrophic hardware failure, your Bitcoins are totally safe and your wallet is heavily encrypted and stored online.

It may be back. I was able to login again.

BRILLIANT how there is no contact information unless you login first.
