has anyone ever tried to run external GPUs on a laptop.Risers do connect via usb so i thought maybe I could just order 2 1080ti and use the internal 1070 that my laptop has. Sorry for the noob question just trying to learn soI can start mining.

no they don't run on usb, they use the cables of usb for the pci express lanes for data, its NOT the same thing. you cannot just plug the usb cable into any ol usb port and expect it to work. what a noob. you should really do research before asking such a dumb question. as matter of fact this very subject has been brought up before and guess what it was by someone like yourself that cared not to do research before asking

And that I understand but I can also change the pci to run on e sata i have a dual video card enclosure running at the moment  by Alienware ... On a side note no need to be a dick I actually did try to search in here before asking the question and I know it's been mentioned that it will over heat but I have my laptop water-cooled because I overclocked it , so before you assume we are all idiots and you are a god be humble homie
