Hi,

I need to know one thing:

I have Corsair HX1200i. Can I use 8-pin (Type3) ---> 6+2 pin (PCIe) [2 outlets] cable to power the riser? My riser is VER007 6-pin.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Regards,

Rizwan

Do you mean using the cpu power output in 8pin ? it will not work the pins aren't the same as the PCI-E one.

No. CPU cable is different and marked as CPU on the cable.

Ok just wanted to be sure, in that case yes you can double a PCI-E 8pin cable to power 2 risers

A single PCI-E 8-pin (or 6+2 pin) connector split out with a QUALITY splitter to 2 6-pin connectors should handle the power load safely to power 2 risers.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Those two set of cables are already with PSU cable set. I need a separate one for 5th and 6th GPU.

They do sell a splitter that splits your CPU into 2 PCIe 8 pins, i haven't used them though so no idea if it works or not, but I have seen them, been meaning to pick up a few to try.
