looks like the difficulty spike killed off interest. I think it has another 100 blocks to go before it will adjust back down. You may want to to change the difficultly to an average over 168 blocks every 42 blocks instead. that should help prevent sudden spikes in mining from killing the coin.
Reducing the reward to 5 and halving the block target time might help too.

There is a blockchain explorer linked on the front page, I just took a look and counted how many blocks between difficulty changes.

had to leave for a while. trying to sync the client now, then will start mining.  Client has been trying to sync for an over an hour. the blockchain said it's downloaded, but (out of sync) is still being displayed

I have set pool fees to 1%, 60 block confirms for fast payouts, and only 0.01 JPC payout fee to pay the actual transaction fee.

Sample command-line:

did you try the addnodes?

yup. it decided to sync up after a restart.  Now to start pool mining. I don't have the gpu power for solo mining.
