Hi,

I seem to be having immense trouble purchasing Bitcoin online. I managed to get 4 of them via the #bitcoin-otc channel a few weeks ago but now I have to wait 3 days to get voice on the channel. I paid via Paypal to one of the people there and had no problems with it, and I've been searching everywhere to just get some Bitcoin without having to wait for days on end but I'm a bit stuck now.

Everywhere I try seems to be favourable to non-UK residents and the only one I can really use, VirWoX, charges quite a bit in fees. All I need is 5/6 Bitcoins but it's becoming very hard to get hold of these now. Does anyone know any Paypal-friendly sellers? I know it's a bit of a hot topic with people reversing the funding, though, so I'd be a bit stuck in showing I'm trustworthy but I could try and track down the guy I purchased them off on #bitcoin-otc or something?

Many thanks!

Does anyone know any Paypal-friendly sellers?

Since using PayPal to buy digital currency is against PayPal's User Agreement merchants no longer offer that:

Your best best is to pay cash with someone local:

I've had reasonable success with Britcoin.

Bank transfer to their account, with your account reference listed; and wait a few days.

The only drawback is the potential damage to your anonymity.  Britcoin have your bank account details.  So it depends on your level of paranoia.

This is the linky your looking for

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/bitmarketEUR.html
EDIT: SOrry its  this link doh

Hope this helps you.

Be aware its possible to scam with paypal (im told).

Lets say you pay me 12 eurosfor 1 bitcoin.
I then see the payments gone thu then I send you the bitcoin.
You ring paypal later on and say "He didnt send me it waaa and they refund you becuase they have no idea what to do with bitcoins etc yet.

So wire is the best way I think but thats just my advice.

Going to try and scam my freind out of 1 bitcoin some time to see if this is in fact true. ( will just get him a few pints to make up for it) Grin

I've used https://bitmarket.eu/ without any problems. PayPal is one of the options available to buy and sell bitcoins. The site confirms each user registration manually so it takes a day or two to get started. To deal with the trust issue, the moderators ask for some kind of proof of your online "reputation" on IRC or Coinpal, or link to your eBay account feedback for example. I have bought Bitcoins via this site with no problems.

https://britcoin.co.uk/ is another site I use. To add money to your account you have to deposit using a bank transfer to Mr. Taaki (a prominent member of this forum) using a unique reference number. Once in your account you can use the money to buy bitcoins which you could then transfer to your wallet address. Once your money is in your account the buying process is automated and (almost) instant.

I don't have any connection with these 2 sites other than a regular user.
