LTC: for obvious reasons. because it is hyped up.
IOTA: it is an interesting project and because it has a very low price easy to pump.
ByteBall: the airdrops are becoming so small and also its adoption has grown.
PIVX: up and coming coin similar to DASH but without the premine.

Maybe Litecoin is the best of all altcoins but still the year not finished so still we may have some time to choose the winner of 2017.

LTC made 100 times price increase in this yeas so it maybe the winner in my opinion.

Ethereum would be the best altcoin in 2017. It's the second best cryptocurrency after Bitcoin. Then there is Litexoin, Dash, Montero, Ripple. These altcoins come after Ethereum.
Next year altcoins will be more important than they are now. In fact, 2018 will be the year of the altcoins.

Anyways, I would also recommend Ethereum since it had gotten far from being called just an altcoin before.

In my opinion I think the best one is ethereum because almost all of the projects and ICO that is being presented these past couple of months is Ethereum base platform. It has a low value and low transfer fee too.

Ethereum, litecoin and bitcoincash are the best three alt coins for year 2018.

I would remove bitcoincash for now. That coin was just manipulated to get to that position and I really do not take that as the best option. Sure, what virtually 90% of the community is after now is profit, so, some holders of Bitcoincash may really be happy they held the coin right now.

Nevertheless, the market has really shown some great sign of increase and improvement this year, so I really would not displace any coin for now, but if I were really to choose, I would rather go for the first one you mentioned.

Not just Litecoin, so many coins are doing well right now, if you are viewing from the profit angle. Nevertheless, for now, a lot of coins have really done well this year and trying to pick a best ALT in 2017 may really not just be that easy. However, if we are just to look at the ALT with a better and general improvement this year, probably we may just have to stick with Ethereum.

The best alt depends on what you are trying to classify as the best. Market cap ? The value increase ? The project itself and the product it has to offer ? All these things could be put together to classify if an Alt is good or not and as far as I am concerned, we may just say Ethereum may fill those gaps right now. Some other coins could have done well in some other areas, but looking at a general view of it, I would go for ETH.
