Well, I'm currently looking at investing 2k Cad funds in alts. Actually have a couple thousands in BTC and it's doing great.

I'm torn between those projects:

-XRP
-IOTA
-OMG
-NEO

open to other suggestions.

looking for a good return (I know it's speculation) for short term (3-4 months).

What would be your pick(s)?

Personally not XRP and not IOTA, both are quite dodgey, in fact ripple isn't even a true cryptocurrency. IOTA seem to be promising things that aren't true. Plus both have pumped massively of late so they're unlikely to have a further pump in them. The other two should perform reasonably well I would guess.

NEO is bad one in your list.

XRP and OMG is good you can use them both.

For short term 3-4 months, sonm is good pick even for next week and most coins with upcoming news would be good picks, you should check all the roadmaps

Yeah waves could be a good pick, I agree. I'm torn about ETH, with the recent pump, I think it will stay at this level for a couple months. Don't you think?

From this list, I only invest in OMG and Ripple. From the top coins, IOTA is definitely the riskiest one. They still need to prove that what they are doing could work, is something totally unique. And the devs team likes to pump the coin with fake news, the same could be said about NEO.

I would invest in something that could be used for untraceable transactions like Dash or Monero. And I would invest in something that could make smart contracts useful like ETH, EOS or ADA.

I think untraceable coins and smart contracts will be big in 2018 and are things that are too far away to be implemented on Bitcoin.

Your pics are good, but if I were you, I would wait a week or two because all altscoins gained a lot of bitcoin value in last couple of days. So now their prices are on top of before.

Komodo Platform - KMD - gives 5% interest per year, they are having their first dICO soon, atomic swaps, active development and lots more.

Bitcore - BTX - currently giving a 4% airdrop every Monday. It goes up 1% each month until the coins run out, probably June-ish 2018. 


If you are a risk-taker look at some of the high POS coins that have tanked like HOLD and EMB.  Warning - no high POS coin has really been able to last long.  People get in early and get out leaving lots of people holding bags.

OMG - altough it just reached a new ATH, if you're good at trading maybe you can find a good entry point
TNT - undervalued
SONM - same as above
MSP - finally reached BTC price support levels between 550-600 sats, i feel that it is now a buy... but DYOR and T/A!!!
KMD - super solid coin.
ELIX - my hidden gem, long term HODL, look into it... active Devs and community, stable price at 0.20-0.25 USD

Your pics are good, but if I were you, I would wait a week or two because all altscoins gained a lot of bitcoin value in last couple of days. So now their prices are on top of before.

I think your right and feel like it's not the best time to get in. Will wait for one week before buying cad-ltc and then ltc to 2 alts that I'm still debating. I Feel like I'll go for OMG but still torn for the second pick.

Yeah i think NEO is a good pick. I would also suggest:

Waves
Shift
Zcoin
Vertcoin
Lisk

Shift is kind of an underdog right now so still very cheap. If you believe in Lisk, you will be happy to hear that they share some of their team members.
Zcoin & Vertcoin both performed strong already in the past months but still have a lot of potential to grow.

I have a few that I'm confident are going to grow and some I think are good investments.

What I believe to be eminent jumps:
Spectrecoin is well on its way to becoming the most private coin.  Privacy coins are the future of cryptos (quickly becoming the "now" with all the crackdown happening).  Expect jumps from XSPEC. 
Syscoin runs blockmarket which is a decentralized ebay.  When people realize what that means and how utilitarian it is, SYS coin should get a jump. 

A Coin I find interesting:
I like the idea of IOTA.  They've created a whole new method of coining their product using tangle.  It's more expensive than it WAS a month ago, but it seems to be a pretty cool.
It's broken the mold of blockchain and I'm curious as to how it will effect cryptos.

XRP is almost the only crypto that has a real use case, working product and great partners behind. Its basically ready to take off.
Since we are talking about investment and not personal feeling, the motivations need to be backed by facts
