Hey all, Been investing in crypto for the last few months as well as trying to learn more about it. Initially downloaded Coinbase and deposited $1000 (50% - ETH, 35% BTC and 15% LTC). Since the initial investment I've been topping up each crypto depending on the market conditions (usually between $25 to $150). Just wanted a little advice on whether it's better to carry on with this strategy and concentrating on these 3 cryptos for long term profit (1-5 years) or would it be advisable to increase the number of alts I have in my portfolio. Was looking at DASH, Ripple, Cardano, Monero, Stellar, NEO, Siacoin and OmiseGO. Any advise is welcome Better to keep those three you have initially started with and now start seeking for more potential alternative cryptocurrencies in which you can see that is beneficial for your part in a way that it is also good for long term holding and investment. Sticking yourself with those three only is like locking yourself in a room wherein you cannot see the wonder of the world. Better keep yourself out of the box and seek for opportunities among other alts so that you can be able to expand and maximize your capacity and capability to make your money grow.

I agree that Iota is a good project but I doubt that this is just her year and she is now and so in the top of all currencies so everything here is ambiguous

In case of long investment:- 1.Ripple-if unbelievable but true ripple is the hot coin at this moment & it's touched 84 billion market cap. 2.Nem-for long term investment I think best. 3.Monero-XMR is the next eth in future.

However, I have one concern about you toping up less than $200 per transaction in coinbase. As far as I know of, the transaction fees charged by coinbase is higher for transaction lower than $200. You may want to check it out. As for diversifying your portfolio to the other altcoins, the coins you have chosen are good. My favourite among them are Monero, Neo and Omg.

Today everything moves so fast that "long term investments" are on weekly base! With so high volatility you can make big gains, but if your priority is long term safety, better bet on more traditional assets.

I see no problem with your portfolio , though 1000$ is not that big and gains would take a lot of time for you to appreciate it's profit. Long term investment for me is always a win/win situation in such top and promising coins, Lot of room to grow and price soon will rise more. Though, we wouldn't really know what will happen to it's future but since it has the reputation and strong support , the only way it's going is to rise.

To secure our financial free future we save in banks or invest in different assets but they full of risk and having low income,Long term investment in Leader coins or altcoins means alot. Invest today and forget once feel you earn alot as you want to fulfill your needs cash out and re invest another platform to make double your income.

I'm not sure if you own the priv keys to the address where your funds are. I would recommend keeping only a small % of your portfolio in an exchange or where you plan to trade regularly and do not have priv keys. Recommendation wise, I think this will be the year for privacy coins as more and more regulations are coming in - XMR, PivX, Zcash, etc. You may want to check the privacy coin comparison here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2669844.msg27244101#msg27244101

To maximize profit with long term investment in cryptocurrency market just learn fundamental of some coin, learn about purpose of the project, what think that project make different with others, and the project should be consist of professional and solid team. For BTC, ETH. and LTC is good choice and others crypto that has big potential is VCT, ARK, WAVES, NAV, NEBLIO.

Any advise is welcome This is a good investment strategy but you still have to expand your investment portfolio because diversification can help you achieve more consistent returns on investment over time and reduce your overall risk on investment. You can also invest on devalued coins expecting to reap in future gains as they grow in the long run.
