why you have to mix cryptocurrencies with religion? What's your point? Did Satoshi dediced how to kill/cut a portion of BTC with the halal method?
Really, don't mix 2 different, way different things, what if it's not? Muslim will not buy it?

It's because there is a whole finance sector which is concerned with banking and finance in accordance with Islam. Check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_banking_and_finance . I personally think there is only one type of banking and Islamic banking is just another name for the same thing, but it's not entirely surprsing that the question arises whether bitcoin is halal or not.

Bitcoin is a currency like any other currency. What is halal or haram is what you do with your bitcoins not Bitcoin itself.

This questions is just wrong. The people that decide wether something is halal or haram (fatwa) depends solely on their understanding. I still remember when electronic cards was haram, because they are intangible.
I think cryptocurrencies will face the same problem at some point. It is sad that banking and inflation of fiat is halal, and people have doubts about bitcoin.

I always go by the same rule, if it doesn't harm humanity and their future then it is good.

It's a very sensitive question indeed. But as far as I know, BTC is halal.Because,there is no bribe or usury mixed with bitcoin.You'll just get the profit according to the risen price of it.

I know that,bribe or usury is haram(prohibited) in Islam.But as bitcoin is just a forex business where there happens no exchanging of bribe or  usury,I think btc is halal.

I think Muslim is clear on the issue of bitcoin is Halal or Haram.  Bitcoin is a digital currency, it is just like USD or euro and there is nothing forbidden in a Islam on not to use any currecny whether it is digital or not digital. Bitcoin is used all over the world by the muslims and we have not heard any such thing that it is forbidden in their religion.

That is ridiculous to talk about, whether bitcoin is halal or not. In a recent article came to know about an Islamic bank that doesn't pay users the interest on their savings which is based on the Islamic law. Same time they levy interest for the loans issued by them. This is how the halal being followed, so in my personal thinking there is nothing to think of halal about bitcoin.

I think that this thread should be for Muslims as we who are jot don’t fully understand what is not and allowable for theim. However I don’t think that bitcoin or business should be kixed with religion especially if it is in the point of giving people theor financial needs

Bitcoin is halal if you use it in the right and correct manner but if you use it in illegal stuffs it will be haram. It really depends on the holder of bitcoin or other crypto currencies if he uses it in the right way or he uses it in the wrong way.  Just like flat if you use it in the wrong way it will be haram.

In Muslim countries a lot of living of the poor and uneducated people. Perhaps this was the reason that they have become an endless stream of terrorists. If bitcoin can make people to improve their education then they will not have to have a desire to take revenge on the world? The preachers of Islam, understand it, and so they are campaigning against bitcoin.

Actually asking these questions is harming the reputation of Islam. Many countries are starting to discriminate against Islam because radical Muslims are trying to impose restrictions on non-muslim countries. It is a matter of conscience, if you feel that Bitcoin is the currency of pigs, then don't use it.

Bitcoin just like any other material in the world. From where you get bitcoin and where you spend bitcoin you have, that's what makes it haram or halal.

Let use common sense here; what is the difference between USD and BTC? The only difference is USD is physical while BTC is digital. If USD is halal then BTC is halal too. therefore, i voted yes.
