Well as you being a newbie in the forum my question is how did you make investment as you only had a vague idea about bitcoins .It is good if you have invested on btc and sold them if you found it profitable .Ups and down are common in every market situation so there is nothing to panic about the price going down as far as you did not end up on loss.Yes it is true that the price will grow if there is more demand for btc and the price will drop if more people start to sell of their btc as there aint much btc to provide for everyone the price will increase when the demand goes high.Try to learn more about btc from available source.

Hi there,

first I want to say this (because I think many people that feel bad will read this as well) :

I think it that the price of BTC will go up again.. I cannot be sure, noone can, but it will probably be ok again.

But....I sold everything... My cryptocurrency that is Smiley
The reason is that I can not grasp the reason of the cause behind the value changing so much whenever it happens.

"ooooh now it went up a lot"...
"aaaaah now it went down a lot"

Then you google and google and wonder....WHY? Why did it go up a lot. Why did it go down a lot.
Sometimes you can find out about some guy with influence that said something on a conference on the other side of the World.
Sometimes it is because a site like coinbase made a mistake or introduced something new..

If lots of people buy, it goes up.
If lots of people sell, it goes down.
I understand...

But if I look at the big picture, it is still a mystery Smiley

So..while I still had a little bit of profit I sold everything.

I did not put in my life savings, but still enough to make me feel bad if the bitcoin would go down a lot more.

I also have to think about taxes (I hate doing taxes!). Here in Scandinavia I have to write down everything. All the order numbers, the amounts,,.... I will take me hours of looking up how to do it properly.
And then I have  to pay 30% taxes over the profit because they validate the bitcoin like a lottery here (and I see the resemblance as well!)
I also bought it from websites from other countries and then the amounts are of course in the wrong valuta... .....horrible....  Wink

I wish all of you "bitcoiners" a very happy 2018. May all of you have profits!! (I feel like a ferengi all of a sudden)

And ehh...I probably will be back again. Just like a lottery, it is a bit of a "kick" one can get out of having a profit.

Demesmaeker

That's not that cool, the price is going to go up especially after Christmas. You should've kept the coins.

If you earned some profit so it is also good idea to sell out your coins Smiley The main target is to earn but not to loose  Smiley

Did you sell it because you saw it going down or did you really plan to do this? I don't think it would have been wise to sell now since it has dropped a lot. Probably you did a panic sell and likely you will regret it when it goes up. However, if it does still go down, then you made a good choice. Just remember to buy back when the time comes it reaches the bottom.

Well the good thing is you sold it at a profit from all the cryptocurrency that you are holding. This is what we have face as we have not build a good based since it was below 1000$ as we have to constantly monitor the process as it is crucial to our trading plan I cannot blame you because I too get a little bit emotional everytime I see Bitcoin goes down in value. Another piece of advice is when you sold Bitcoin while going down at a profit you should have bought more when it has bottomed out.

The decision is solely yours, if you feel that selling all your bitcoin is a way of cutting lost then you have really missed it because bitcoin is very volatile and at that you may think you hard made gain already but in the next few hours you see the price double either upwards or downward. But what matters is the motive behind your selling, if you sell cause you need to sell then you are OK but if is because of the recent fall in price then you are wrong. Despite the fact that we need to believe in the the speculation of others let us also try to study and speculate bitcoin price on our own.

I bought bitcoin at 18,700, and now it costs less than 14,000. But I'm not going to sell, I'll be waiting for the raise. I hope that after the new year bitcoin will resume its rise in price. Diversification does not always help. Almost all cryptocurrencies have fallen in price over the last 2 days.

It is good thing to continue to hold especially if we have experienced these crashes before because i have some altcoins too. If we have survived the China ban, JP Morgan critics of bitcoin, Fork/Segwit2x and lot of price corrections that make bitcoin value sudden crash before then we could still survive this one too. I suggest too hold you all coins at all cost and let them be panic as they will regret it in the end like what they did before.  Cool

Personaly I think it's mistake to sell everything but everyone decides for himself.
There is always a risk and no one has told that the price will rise all the time. But again, everyone decides for himself.

While you may regret cashing out at some point in the future when bitcoin goes up way higher I think it will save you so much stress that you did it now. Watching the live prices all day long is really nerve-racking.
I think that there will be more stress when bitcoin grows and there come the disappointment and awareness of the mistake)) but the main thing is learning from the mistakes...then they aren't in vain

Most of the bitcoinners nowadays is shelling out their income to spent some during this holiday season. You are certainly correct, I am too, at first I never thought that I will always check for the graph and determine the reason why they price changes but then again, it excites me and give nervous, fear and joy. At the end, I hope I'll be rewarded someday.

sometimes the price of good or service moves very fast(appreciate) but a stage came that will move back again and the bubble will burst and may it will fall below it original price, means by which rate you buy it.

Hi OP, I do feel your pain, IT would be comforting if there was a trustworthy "Go To" source to tell us all exactly why the market is swinging this way or that! My best guess is that its down to some kind of herd mentality. I sell because I see a load of other people selling, I buy because I see a lot of other people buying - kind of thing.

I am guessing that next week this selloff will be long forgotten again - but really who knows. IT can be a lot to stomach if you get caught by all the ups and downs but this is the way it is if you want. Some people like the excitement - some people prefer more predictable (boring) things like real-estate.

This scenario in bitcoin price keeps everyone bothered a lot and I cannot blame if many people will do the same stuff well instead of worrying too much on how could ypu recover your lost from this journey better cut it down while you can still receive some earnings. This is how some people react because they are afraid of losing everything and do not trust bitcoin that much. For me I'm still hoping for bitcoin recovery up to this moment

You are right bro,I think the bitcoin price will get back on track after the hard fork. Some people are selling their bitcoin because it is Christmas time so they need money. So it is the right time for buying bitcoin(in my opinion). But no one knows the real potential of bitcoin so if some people think they made enough profit they might sell their bitcoins now.

When you compute the value of bitcoin now, im sure many of us got loss but nobody will if we do not sell it on that price. All We can wait a little longer to regain its strength, buy when the price is down, sell when it up. I just wanna become optimistic on this matter because bitcoin thought me to risk and earn big.

I made stop losses for almost coins in my bittrex trading list - and this night all orders were worked out. So, now im waiting when holiday will end and will start trading again. Now is not the best time to trade. But i cash out just from alts, but didnt sell BTC, i have such feeling that price can go up again soon, and what we are seeing now is just manipulation of market makers. But im not sure.
